Xinhua News Agency, Paris, May 6 (warm reporter Xu Yongchun) On the morning of May 6 local time, Madam Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, and Peng Liyuan, Special Envoy of UNESCO for the Promotion of Girls' and Women's Education, were invited to visit the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris.

When Peng Liyuan arrived, Director General of UNESCO Azoulai warmly welcomed her at the entrance. Azoulai accompanied Peng Liyuan to visit the "Ten Year Achievement Exhibition of Cooperation between China and UNESCO" and spoke highly of China's contribution to promoting the development of global girls' and women's education.

When meeting with Azoulai, Peng Liyuan briefly introduced China's latest progress in promoting the education of girls and women, especially the achievements of the "Spring Bud Plan". Peng Liyuan said that since I served as the special envoy of UNESCO to promote girls' and women's education for ten years, I have visited schools in many countries, and I am glad to see that more and more women have changed their destiny and led a happy life through education. Promoting the education of girls and women is a great cause, which is related to social progress and the common destiny of mankind. China is willing to work together with UNESCO to promote all parties to increase their investment in the global education of girls and women, help more women to obtain equal access to education and create a better future.

Azoulai spoke highly of Peng Liyuan's work and contributions since she took the post of Special Envoy, and expressed that UNESCO is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to promote new development of global girls' and women's education.

Azoulai presented Peng Liyuan with a certificate of honor for the tenth anniversary of the performance of his special envoy. Peng Liyuan presented to UNESCO the tapestry "Spring Bud Blossoms" co created by the beneficiaries of the "Spring Bud Program".
