At 12:30 on the 22nd, after finishing the work at hand, Lin Jinjiao, the president of Zherong County Association of Caring for Left behind Children, took out her mobile phone and started WeChat video calling. "Xiaojing, how are you recently?" "Mom Lin, everything is fine in school, so you don't have to worry about me." At the other end of the video, Xiaojing (not her real name), who is smiling brightly, holds up her mobile phone to show Lin Jinjiao, the "loving mother", the campus environment.

When Lin Jinjiao met Xiaojing for the first time, she was touched by her lack of confidence in hiding in the corner and began to pay attention to her. "Among the paired left behind children, Xiaojing impressed me most. She was an abandoned baby who was adopted, and her adoptive mother had breast cancer. The mother and daughter were squeezed into a dark and humid room less than 30 square meters, both as a kitchen and a bedroom, and had a hard time." Lin Jinjiao recalled.

Since then, Lin Jinjiao has acted as Xiaojing's "loving mother" without hesitation, and has gone everywhere to seek help for Xiaojing's life and learning. With the care of a "loving mother", Xiaojing's study and life gradually got on the right track. Finally, she was admitted to her favorite university and is now a sophomore in a university in Xiamen. Looking back over the past ten years, in Lin Jinjiao's eyes, Xiaojing has changed from an inferiority complex and a reticence to a sunny and confident one. She is very pleased.

In recent years, Zherong County has given full play to the role of the Women's Federation to carry out the action of caring for children in distress, advocating teachers, doctors, executive committee members of the Women's Federation and other caring people from all walks of life to serve as "caring mothers", and constantly improving the "133" care for left behind children Working mechanism (that is, the county women's federation takes the lead in establishing an association, creating three teams of full-time and part-time workers, volunteers and experts, and establishing three mechanisms of dynamic management, fund raising and project assistance).

Xiao Shun (not his real name)'s father died early, and his mother ran away from home. As a child, Xiao Shun and his grandmother depended on each other. In 2014, Xu Aiqing, a teacher of the second primary school in the county, found Xiao Shun out of group and introverted and sensitive in his class. During her home visit, she found that her grandparents and grandchildren lived in a dilapidated house and ate leftovers from a few days ago. She couldn't help shedding tears.

"I am also a mother myself. What children at this age need most is love and companionship, so I often come to see him, and buy and deliver what is missing." Whenever I am free, Xu Aiqing always goes to Xiao Shun's home, or takes Xiao Shun back to his home to take care of him, giving him warmth.

From listening silently to actively sharing interesting stories in school, Xiao Shun gradually opened his heart to Xu Aiqing and became cheerful. He also made friends in the class and was selected as the "star of self-improvement" by his classmates. "I like Xu's mother very much. She has given me a lot of care. I now have a mother like other children!" Xiao Shun smiled happily when he mentioned Xu Aiqing.

The story of Lin Jinjiao, Xu Aiqing and other "loving mothers" pairing up with children in distress will start 16 years ago. In September 2008, in order to better help children in need, the Women's Federation of Zherong County, with the support of the county party committee and the county government, set up a "loving mother" volunteer service team to provide family care and academic guidance to children in need in pairs, and raised funds from various sources to help solve some children's life problems. In order to further expand the scope of assistance, Zherong County established the Care for Left behind Children Association in May 2015.

Hands in hand, "loving mother" warms one difficult child after another.

Over the past eight years, Xie Haiyan, a "loving mother", has actively organized other "loving mothers" to provide micro wish gifts for children in need every June 1 Children's Day, and has carried out various forms of assistance activities. So far, she has helped more than 10 left behind children out of difficulties.

Huang Zhiqiu, a "loving mother", has been linked to Shishan Primary School in Zhayang Township since 2021 to buy air conditioning fans for the school and provide activity funds for students to celebrate the Children's Day. Last year, she donated 3000 yuan in cash and some daily necessities for Xiao Xuan (a pseudonym), a diabetic child.

In recent years, Zherong County has further expanded the team of "loving mothers" and established a "loving mother" support account. According to the principle of being nearby, it has formed a "one-to-one" or "one to many" support relationship with children left behind and in distress, to accompany children to grow up healthily and complete their studies successfully.

Up to now, the "Caring Mother" in Zherong County has made a thorough book to help more than 2600 children left behind and in need, carried out more than 3000 volunteer services, raised more than 2 million yuan in total, and subsidized more than 300 students in need.
