Unbinding mobile phone numbers is not just a user's business

Recently, the topic of "canceling your mobile phone number equals selling yourself" has become a hot topic. "Xu Dudu", a police officer of Tongling Public Security Bureau in Anhui Province who released the topic, reminded netizens in the popular science video that "the mobile phone number that was written off at random is likely to cause property losses. You may as well do one more step to unbind all the relevant software that binds this mobile phone number, and the mobile phone number reserved by the bank card must also be modified, so that you can be foolproof."

But in real life, not everyone can remember how many APP, public account and applet are bound to their mobile phone number. Accordingly, it is difficult to ensure that all registered accounts are unbound.

In order to solve this problem, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched the "One Certificate Check" service. The police, major operators and mainstream apps will also remind users to unbind when changing numbers in the corresponding interface, and provide a jump way of "One Certificate Check". Unfortunately, there are still many common APPs that have not been covered. The user's unbinding operation is time-consuming and laborious, and it is hard to avoid a leak. After a number that is not completely unbound is "re assigned" to a new user, it will inevitably bring endless trouble to the front and rear number owners.

People are using mobile phone numbers, but mobile phone numbers bind people deeply. In the past, mobile phone numbers were not as strongly related to people's daily life, personal privacy and property security as they are today. The "90 day freeze period" for cancellation of mobile phone numbers and the "secondary number release" for reuse of old numbers launched by the three major operators did not bring such sharp pain to users. However, it is almost impossible for people to leave their mobile phone numbers and even face the embarrassment of being unable to prove themselves. They may have to take the blame for the previous number users, which is a great infringement on the rights and interests of consumers.

It is not allowed to shift the responsibility of unbinding to individual users. Admittedly, as a user of mobile phone numbers, he should take a long refreshment and "take one more step" as the police remind him, but his personal strength is limited after all. Telecom operators, Internet giants and institutions behind APP may as well take more steps. For example, expand the range of APP covered by "One Certificate Check" as soon as possible; For example, telecom operators offer cheaper "number protection package" to users in need; For example, the telecommunication management department resolutely calls a halt to some applications that require users to register endlessly

There are always more ways than problems. The key is whether all parties really want to do this, and whether they really care about the rights and interests of users. Almost everyone is using mobile phones, and everyone will face this problem. Even if it is to save some trouble when canceling the registration in the future, all departments should work together to solve this problem.
