College introduction: It was merged by California College and College of Agriculture, Mining and Machinery in 1868, and moved to Berkeley near San Francisco in 1873. In 1982, the Council of the United States Joint Scientific Research Council evaluated the graduate education of the school as the first in the United States. The school has 30 disciplines ranking in the top 10, including anthropology, chemistry, engineering, history, music, statistics and biostatistics.
