The fourth assessment report of Working Group I of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) pointed out that since the 1970s, the global trend of tropical cyclone intensity has increased.
At present, 14 members of the Typhoon Committee each provide 10 names for typhoons in the northwest Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea. The actual naming work is entrusted to the Japan Meteorological Agency in the region.
With the progress of science and technology, the meteorological observation method has gradually improved, and the observation of typhoon has become increasingly accurate and reliable.
