On June 10, 1952, Comrade Mao Zedong wrote an inscription for the establishment of the All China Sports Federation, "Develop sports and strengthen people's physique". On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the inscription, under the unified coordination and deployment of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China, all parts of the country have organized and carried out a series of national fitness themed activities that are close to the masses, convenient for participation, and diverse in forms around June 10, so as to bring the event activities to the masses and public services to the masses.
In order to play an exemplary role, the national main venue activities were held in Sanming, Fujian, Wuhan, Hubei, Meishan, Sichuan, Pingxiang, Jiangxi, Changchun, Jilin and other places. According to incomplete statistics, around June 10, more than 5000 events with various forms and rich contents were held around the country, and more than 3 million people participated directly. The event is held by the masses
Sanming, Fujian Province held the theme activity of the national main venue on June 1. At the launching ceremony, fitness enthusiasts of different ages and different groups brought a vigorous and passionate national fitness exhibition gathering, including dragon dance, lion dance, Latin dance, street dance, martial arts, taijiquan, square dance, etc., with nearly 2000 participants, which fully demonstrated the achievements of Fujian's national fitness. At the event site, activities such as national fitness test, scientific fitness guidance of social sports instructors, on-site teaching of sports fitness equipment, sports lottery public welfare publicity, etc. were also carried out. The activity extensively mobilized volunteer service teams and social sports instructors at all levels to carry out various volunteer service activities for national fitness at the grass-roots level, and guided the participation of the elderly, young people, women and other different groups.
The national main venue activities in Wuhan, Hubei Province are rich in content and diverse in form. There are five major parts in total, including the launch ceremony, the national fitness exhibition, the national physical exercise standard compliance test competition, the national fitness games, and the "Enjoy Sports Lottery, Health Consultation" activity. Nearly 2000 fitness enthusiasts gathered at the scene to share the sports feast.
During the launching ceremony of the national main venue in Meishan, Sichuan Province, events such as fluorescent running, tug of war, and parent-child relay were held in Meishan New Center Sports Park. World Games events such as rock climbing, karate, roller skating, and martial arts were displayed, as well as experience activities such as archery and boating, which attracted more than 3000 people from all walks of life. In the later period, Meishan will also hold national fitness events such as Dragon Boat Boat Race for Duck, Enterprise Basketball Match, Public Taekwondo Invitational Match, Fitness Ball Exercise, Pickup Ball Training, etc., and carry out national fitness volunteer service, scientific fitness guidance, etc. in combination with the event activities. Before and after June 10, 19 public stadiums and gymnasiums in Meishan City were opened to the public free of charge or at a low price, and actively promoted the safe and orderly opening of school stadiums and gymnasiums. It is reported that Meishan will also carry out nearly 1000 national fitness themed activities that are close to the masses, diverse in form and rich in content this year, so that the establishment of a model city for national sports and fitness will truly benefit the people.
The Pingxiang event in Jiangxi was held on June 10. The exhibition of national fitness projects such as square dance, street dance, cheerleading, line dance, dragon and lion dance, and radio gymnastics was held on the scene, and a series of activities such as Red Anyuan parent-child hiking, community red parent-child fun sports meet were held. Four areas were set up at the event site, including sports culture publicity, scientific fitness guidance, national physique test, and national physical exercise standard event experience. More than 200 citizens were invited to participate in the event. While bringing audio-visual enjoyment to the audience, they also experienced the fun of sports promoting health, which fully demonstrated the good atmosphere for Jiangxi people to participate in national fitness and promote national health.
A grand water feast was held at the bank of Shixi River in Shuangyang District, Changchun, Jilin Province - the national main venue activity to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's inscription "Develop sports and strengthen people's physique" and the second China Jilin National Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament "Dragon Boat Festival · Together". The competition attracted 26 teams and more than 500 athletes from Zhejiang, Hebei, Anhui, Guangdong and other provinces to participate. It was the largest, highest level and most abundant dragon boat race ever held in Jilin Province.
Public services are delivered to the masses
On June 6, the theme activity of fitness for all in Xi'an, the "Five Enters" activity of scientific fitness guidance in Yanta District in 2024, was held in the community gym on Hongzhuan South Road. More than 100 public stadiums and gymnasiums in Jiangsu Province are open to the general public for free or low fees during the Dragon Boat Festival, making sports the first choice for people to relax during holidays. On June 10, Hangzhou Stadium, Hangzhou National Fitness Center, Hangzhou Stadium, Hangzhou Swimming Gymnasium, Hangzhou Daguan Swimming Gymnasium, five municipal level stadiums, and several district and county related stadiums in Shangcheng District, Gongshu District, Xihu District, Tonglu County, etc. were open to the public free of charge or at a low price.
During the Dragon Boat Festival, the national "dragon boat craze" also gave birth to the "dragon boat economy". Dragon boat racing and related folk cultural activities have become the protagonists of the cultural tourism market during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Take Anhui as an example. When tourists come to Anhui, they can not only experience the passion of sports and the charm of traditional culture by rowing dragon boats, but also enjoy the mountains and waters of Anhui and start a different journey of Anhui style and charm. In recent years, Anhui Province has launched a series of brand events with Anhui characteristics relying on landscape resources, together with Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. During the 2024 "China · Anhui Beautiful Landscape" Dragon Boat Race, the local citizens not only felt the speed and passion of the dragon boat at a close distance, but also attracted many foreign tourists to visit Chizhou Guichi and appreciate the rich heritage of Xinghua Village, the "Millennium Poetry Village".
