"All the dishes are ready! Please enjoy yourself!" With a loud cry, Zhang Jie, a tourist of Manchu homestay in Tongren Village, Fuxing Township, Suibin County, Heilongjiang Province, gathered around the table, picked up chopsticks and ate. There are all kinds of dishes on the table, such as braising, stewing, sauce, cooking, stewing, frying, steaming, and frying. According to Lin Guoqing, the head of the home stay, these dishes are truly eight bowls of Manchu people. This kind of eating style with strong Manchu cultural characteristics originated in the Qing Dynasty, and has been handed down since then. Many tourists come here to enjoy themselves with their relatives and friends.

During the May Day holiday, the rooms of the Manchu homestay in Tongren Village were fully booked. Tourists can visit the ruins of the ancient city of Tongren, stay in the "horsetail room", taste the "eight bowls", fish and shoot arrows in Heilongjiang, and enjoy the unique Manchu culture.

Tongren Village is located 50 kilometers northwest of Suibin County, bordering Heilongjiang Province in the north.

However, due to its remote location, few people come to visit Tongren Village. "The fragrance of wine is also afraid of the depth of the alley!" said Liu Detao, secretary of the Party branch of Tongren Village. "There are many good things in our Tongren Village, but there is no opportunity to show them."

With the booming development of the tourism industry, a trend of "home stay" has emerged in various places. Relying on rich ecological resources and traditional houses, it complies with the new direction of the tourism industry development and the new demand of the tourism consumption market, revitalizes idle resources, improves the industrial connotation, and integrates traditional elements with modern elements. Liu Detao and the villagers saw the business opportunity and wanted to develop the home stay economy.

Do what you say, and Party members and cadres take the lead. The Party branch of Tongren Village has opened the development mode of "Party building+homestay" in combination with the actual situation, striving for funds upward and mobilizing villagers downward to participate in the construction and operation of homestay, which not only effectively solves the problem of "no money" for the village collective, but also makes the grass-roots organizations rejuvenate. During the May Day holiday in 2021, Tongren Village Manchu homestay welcomed the first batch of tourists.

"The home stay industry market is very hot, but if you want to be famous, you must have your own style and characteristics," said Lin Guoqing, who returned home to operate Manchu home stay. Tongren Village has 402 households with 1158 people, 60% of whom are Manchus. Fuxing Township is the only minority township in Suibin County. "When we decorated, we added decorations, hand play pieces and reading materials of Manchu cultural elements, Shaman drums, Galaha, and some old objects collected from villagers' homes." Lin Guoqing introduced them one by one as if they were precious.

"Pocket houses, thousand character kang" and "chimneys sitting on the ground" are Manchu characteristic residential buildings dotted in the border villages along Heilongjiang. Relying on unique human resources, Tongren Village focuses on promoting the integrated development of agriculture and tourism, runs through the concept of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains" in the process of rural revitalization, and actively creates a distinctive Manchu cultural brand. In October 2021, Tongren Village was awarded the title of "Provincial Rural Tourism Key Village".

"This land was originally an abandoned pit, and no one expected such a beautiful house to be built on it," said Su Fengqin, a villager over 50 years old.

In addition to the Manchu homestay covering an area of nearly 3000 square meters, Tongren Village has also built an outdoor barbecue dining area. In the nearby picking garden, there are watermelon, cantaloupe, tomato and other vegetables and fruits. In summer, tourists barbecue, fish and pick fruits and vegetables with the surging water of Heilongjiang and the chirping of frogs and cicadas; In winter, when the snow is covered outside, tourists sit on the hot kang head and drink with friends and relatives.

A steady stream of tourists has brought good income to the villagers. During the slack season, Su Fengqin and several villagers worked as waiters in the B&B restaurant. At the same time, they also brought their own "little stupid chicken", sticky bean buns and other agricultural and sideline products to market. "If you don't go out and work hard, you can earn more than 30000 yuan at home every year!" Su Fengqin said happily.

At the end of each year, the village also turned some of the income from operating homestay into "welfare" such as white flour and soybean oil, so that everyone could taste the "sweetness" brought by industrial development. When talking about the changes brought about by the economy of homestay, Su Fengqin said, "In the past, we used to live by farming and working. There are fewer and fewer people in the village, and the village has become cold and quiet. Now the homestay has developed. There are many tourists all the year round, and the village is becoming more and more lively."
