As a major grain and oil producing county, Tongjiang County is located in the mountainous area around Sichuan Basin, with three mountains and two valleys. The mountain soil layer is shallow and barren, and the field area is small and the slope changes greatly, so it is difficult to use agricultural machinery.
In order to consolidate the foundation of food security, Tongjiang County takes the construction of high standard farmland as an important starting point. "Improve the level of agricultural mechanization, solve the difficulties in mountain areas, and make mountain agriculture stronger." Zhao Huaishun, director of Tongjiang County Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, introduced that Tongjiang County, in the process of building high standard farmland, not only pays attention to overall planning and integrated promotion, but also emphasizes regional adaptation and classified implementation.

Hexi Village is located in the low mountain area in the south of Tongjiang County. It is planned to reconstruct and construct 3200 mu of high standard farmland. Up to now, Tongjiang County has built 496900 mu of high standard farmland, and the comprehensive mechanization level of agriculture has reached more than 67%, effectively promoting the transformation and upgrading of agriculture and increasing farmers' income.
