Meguiar and the innovators who redefined the new generation of automotive architecture worked together to re start the vision of the storage system, and launched the world's first four port SSD - Meguiar 4150AT, providing the automotive industry with much-needed flexibility and powerful power to launch revolutionary technologies. "

    The Meguiar 4150AT SSD has brought enterprise speed to consumer vehicles, achieving random read and random write speeds of more than 600000 IOPS (input/output operations per second) and 100000 IOPS in 4KB transmission. With the increasing number of tasks that vehicles need to process synchronously, and they come from different systems, such as Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), In Vehicle Infotainment System (IVI), and the intelligent cockpit supporting AI functions - Meguiar 4150AT SSD [2]. With its excellent performance, it can efficiently manage data streams from multiple SoCs at the same time, becoming an ideal choice for the new generation of vehicles.

    The Meguiar 4150AT SSD provides powerful customizable functions. The design inspiration comes from the data center SSD, but in order to meet the challenges brought by the new generation of automotive architecture, the following functions have been tailored, including:

    ·Support multi port: As the first four port SSD in all terminal markets [3], Meguiar 4150AT SSD can connect up to four SoCs, providing high flexibility while realizing a single data source. For example, auto OEMs can connect one port to the ADAS system and the other port to the IVI system. Each port can access public key map data while storing private data, thus reducing the cost of storage per GB. Because the two systems can access the shared data at the same time, and reduce the redundancy of data replicas, this way can improve performance and eliminate storage bottlenecks. In addition, the four ports provided by Meguiar 4150AT SSD can also reduce the need for additional storage devices. As the existing solutions in the market can only be connected to a single SoC, they are often used in a single vehicle system, resulting in idle capacity. To connect SSDs to multiple SoCs, OEMs must use expensive automotive grade PCIe switches.     ·Support virtualization: The SR-IOV function of Meguiar 4150AT SSD can support up to 64 sets virtual machine (VM), which provides high performance for multi host workloads with heavy tasks. Unique virtualization technology provides isolated storage areas for a single SoC and its virtual machines, which not only supports local data processing, but also can share storage pools, thus maximizing efficiency. As the vehicle SoC increasingly uses virtual machines to complete multi task processing of different functions, including automatic driving and vehicle to vehicle communication, it is crucial to support multi host workloads. The advantage of the SR-IOV function is that it can direct the input/output (I/O) of the virtual machine (VM) to the SSD hardware, which forms a sharp contrast with the typical semi virtualization - in the semi virtualization system, the input/output (I/O) can be imported into the SSD through the software management program, resulting in delays. By bypassing the software layer, Meguiar 4150AT SSD can improve the random reading performance by three times [4].

    ·Enhanced security: Thanks to its unique virtualization function, Meguiar 4150AT SSD can help automobile manufacturers improve their security performance. Based on SR-IOV virtualization, the data of each virtual machine (VM) is isolated from other data on hardware, which can not only reduce data or code leakage, but also prevent hackers from attacking a single virtual machine and endangering other virtual machines, thus maintaining the privacy and security of key data.

    ·Customizable durability mode: Meguiar 4150AT SSD is made of three-layer unit (TLC) NAND, but after configuration, it can support single-layer unit (SLC) and high durability (HE-SLC) data durability groups, providing 20 times and 50 times more durability than TLC, respectively, to better meet unique data processing needs. For example, the HE-SLC durability group can be used for heavy write use cases, such as black box continuous data recording, to help cars continuously re record key data from sensors, cameras and laser radars. In the case that data needs to be programmed and erased every few minutes, HE-SLC mode can provide the required durability without using more expensive volatile storage such as DRAM.

    ·Designed for the stringent requirements of the automotive industry: Meguiar 4150AT SSD supports the ASIL B level of automotive safety integrity required by the automotive safety system. It is packaged with a ball grid array (BGA) and can withstand the impact and vibration that vehicles may encounter in harsh environments. Like all automotive solutions of Micron, this product can support a wide range of operating temperatures in the on-board environment.

    Meguiar has now sampled 4150AT SSDs to customers in the global automotive industry. The capacity of this product is up to 1.8 TB, which will help the next generation of vehicles to efficiently store AI algorithms, large language models, advanced infotainment and telemetry data. Meguiar will exhibit this SSD sample at booth 5-109 of Embedded World from April 9 to April 11.
