Fujian people have always been diligent in farming, herding and fishing, and asking for food from the sea. Ningde in eastern Fujian is the "hometown of Chinese big yellow croaker". In the 1970s, overfishing led to the depletion of large yellow croakers here. In the 1980s, the aquatic science and technology personnel represented by Liu Jiafu overcame the artificial breeding technology of large yellow croaker, successfully realized the industrialization of artificial breeding of large yellow croaker, and the large yellow croaker returned to the people's table.

Sanming City, which enjoys the reputation of "Green City of China", has a forest coverage rate of 77.12%. The local government makes use of its ecological advantages to vigorously develop the under forest economy, keep bees, breed birds, plant traditional Chinese medicine, cultivate edible fungi, and build a natural "green food factory".
