This article introduces how to use SmartArt to make structure diagram in excel 2010. The organization chart is shown in Figure 1.

Step 1: Select the SmartArt function under the "Insert" tab, select "Hierarchy", and select a structure chart form. As shown in Figure 2.

After "OK", the simple structure diagram as shown in Figure 3 can be inserted.

You can also change the color and style according to your needs. As shown in Figure 4.

Step 2: Enter the corresponding text.
Step 3: Add branches at the same level.
What needs special attention here is "management representative", because this position is above each department and below the general manager, and belongs to the category of "assistant". If there is no branch in the default structure chart, you can add the corresponding branch by selecting "General Manager" ->"Add Assistant".
Since there are 6 departments under the general manager, and the existing 3 departments are not enough, you can select one of them and add departments by right clicking ->"Add Shape" ->"Add Shape Later" (or Earlier). As shown in Figure 5.

Step 4: Add low-level branches.
Since it is the Production Department that needs to add the next level branch, select the Production Department, right-click ->Add Shape ->Add Shape Below (repeat 3 times) to add the branch of Workshop. As shown in Figure 6.
After filling in the corresponding text, you can get the structure diagram as shown in Figure 7.

To make the layout of the "Workshop" consistent with Figure 1, you can select the "Production Department" and three workshops at the same time, and switch the "Layout" to the standard, as shown in Figure 8.

With this setting, you can get the organization chart shown in Figure 1.
If you need to change the organization chart style, you can also re select the preferred layout in the "Design" tab, as shown in Figure 9.

So far, the organization chart has been drawn.
