"President Xi Jinping's state visit to Hungary further promoted the practical cooperation in the agricultural field between Hungary and China." Recently, President Gilissa of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences said in an interview with our reporter, "China has a lot of experience to learn from in sustainable development, agricultural digitization, talent training and other aspects. Hungary and China strengthen cooperation under the framework of jointly building the "Belt and Road", which will help improve Hungary's agricultural scientific research level and international competitiveness ".

As one of the institutions of higher learning with a long history in Hungary, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences actively promotes cooperation in the agricultural field between Hungary and China. It is reported that since 2000, the university has signed agreements with 17 Chinese universities on teacher-student exchanges, joint publishing and research cooperation.

"In 2017, we established the 'Hungary China Food Science Cooperation Research Center' with Southwest University of China, which became a part of the scientific and technological cooperation under the framework of the 'Belt and Road' jointly built by Hungary and China." Gilissa introduced that the breeding program we carried out with China has cultivated wheat varieties resistant to Fusarium; Through cooperation, the two teams have found new ways to improve the soil. In Gilissa's view, these cooperation achievements have made contributions to Hungary's agricultural modernization and the development of related disciplines. "The cooperation between Hungary and China has helped Hungary improve its scientific research capability, especially in the fields of food science and agricultural innovation."

It is reported that at present, 63 Chinese students are studying and exchanging at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, carrying out research on food science, nutrition science and other topics. "Our goal is to bring together relevant innovation subjects in Central and Eastern Europe and jointly promote innovative educational activities and interdisciplinary research. The education and technical cooperation between Hungary and China is very important for us to achieve our goals," said Gillissa.

Gillissa believes that China has made remarkable achievements in agricultural technology development, agricultural mechanization and green development. The application of intelligent irrigation systems, high-precision sensors and other technologies in the agricultural field can optimize resource utilization, improve production efficiency and reduce the impact on the environment. The progress made by China to meet the challenges of agricultural development will provide reference for Hungary's agricultural technology development.

Gillisa hoped that Hungary and China would further deepen agricultural trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. "Hungary has many high-quality specialty agricultural products, and China has a broad market. It is hoped that more Hungarian agricultural products will enter the Chinese market, which will help expand the popularity and influence of Hungarian agriculture in the world."
