After the opening of the Qinghai Tibet Railway, the number of visitors to Tibet has doubled. A large number of young people who have been "lost" in coastal or first - and second tier cities have come. Many of them came for the first time because of the beautiful scenery; The reason for staying or returning is that this is a new hot spot for entrepreneurship. Relatively speaking, Lhasa has a low altitude and is also a distribution center for tourists to Tibet. Therefore, most of them rent in Lhasa and become the "Tibetan drifters", but they seldom buy houses to settle here.

In 2006, when the Qinghai Tibet Railway was opened, Wang Yinlong excitedly bought a train ticket and came to Lhasa from Liaoyuan, Jilin Province. In this way, I never left. I opened an inn, climbed the snow mountain, and completed the most important thing in my life on Mount Everest: propose

Guan Xian, a Guangdong girl who looks very thin. In 2016, I met my husband Wang Yinlong on Mount Everest and stayed in Lhasa since then.

Li Jun, a native of Deyang, Sichuan Province, has been fascinated by the culture and beauty of Tibet and began to look for a reason to stay. "Photography, it must be photography." So he became a photographer and founded an outdoor wedding photography team. His photos and stories became a feature film of CCTV, Crazy Photographer.

Lu Junyi has studied hairdressing technology in Hangzhou for many years, but it is very difficult to start a business from scratch in Hangzhou, a city full of talents. When he arrived in Lhasa, he was penniless and could not even afford to pay for the accommodation in the small hotel. He said, "Boss, why don't I cut your hair?" After cutting, the boss looked in the mirror and said, "The technique is good. Stay here. I will give you 10000 yuan to start a shop.". Six years later, his hair salon has become the leader of Lhasa's hairdressing industry.

Zhao Can was born in Pingdingshan, Henan Province. He studied mining machinery in college. In this coal mining city, in order to get a job in the future, young people would go to study the major related to this industry in those years. However, when resources ran out, people left. Zhao Can also had to leave. At that time, he was also a young man who lost both jobs and love. The reason why he chose to go to Lhasa was that he checked the map and found that there were many temples along the way. He was discouraged and wanted to become a monk. A master took him in. Half a year later, he solved the problem of food and clothing, but he still could not stop his desire for "lust". He said goodbye to his master and continued to walk westward, higher and higher, until he reached Lhasa. This year is the fourth year.

Hou Yuxi came to Lhasa for commercial performance with the band from Anhui. One month later, the band returned after completing the commercial performance contract. Xiao Hou stayed here for a simple reason. The air here is good.

When I was going to Lhasa 20 years ago, the travel group suggested that I should go between June and September, mainly because of the climate and transportation. Walk on the square of Potala Palace, where most Tibetans come to worship and tourists stop for a short time. At that time, to book a better local hotel, you had to make a long reservation in advance; If you want to go to some distant scenic spots, you should ask your close friends to rent off-road vehicles with guaranteed performance

In the past 20 years, I have been to Tibet 7 times. Since the opening of the Qinghai Tibet Railway, more and more people have come to visit. Compared with the coastal parcel post area, due to the problems of transportation and logistics, the postage here should be calculated separately. However, it is precisely because of the underdeveloped "online shopping industry" that the business district here becomes more and more lively year by year. A large number of young people from coastal areas or first and second tier cities come here. For them, the first time is because of the beautiful scenery; The reason for staying or returning is that this is a new hot spot for entrepreneurship. Lhasa has become the place where their dreams come true.

Wang Yinlong, who fell in love with Tibet because of the blue sky, white clouds and high mountains, originally worked as a designer in his hometown. Although his income was stable, nine to five in the morning, that was not the life he wanted, and the first tier cities had a talent explosion. So he chose Lhasa. In his 13 years in Lhasa, he invested 60000 yuan to open his first small hotel. Today, he has developed into a large home stay with 50 rooms. He has climbed to the top of Mount Everest twice and also completed his proposal there. The circle agreed that this was the most successful "Tibetan drifter".

Li Jun talked about his experience. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., he did not take a break, from working in the south to joining the army and leaving the army; From Sleeping Bridge Cave to the champion of world-class beauty and makeup contest; From penniless to Lhasa, he was worth ten million yuan in just four years; From the main character of the documentary to the instant zero...... The big man, who was one meter nine, said that he had four ups and downs in Tibet, and the last sentence was "I will not fall down so easily." Now his appointment for shooting has been scheduled for three months.

Lu Junyi only spends half of the year in Lhasa, so his apprentice can stand alone in his shop. The other half of my time is still studying and traveling around the world.

Zhao Can will show me some beautiful photos taken in Tibet every day. He spent three years working in Lhasa, and then bought an SUV to lead a private customized tour. Take guests through the beautiful scenery every day.

Hou Yuxi sat quietly on the stage, playing her guitar very well and singing very well. After stepping down, he chatted with his new friends in Lhasa. "To be honest, in the first and second tier cities, the competition is too fierce, even if it is singing in bars! It is different in Lhasa, where there is not so much pressure..." The only thing that makes her feel a little disappointed is that it is too far away from home, and she will be afraid on the way home alone in the dead of night.

"Tibetan drifter" youth

one / thirty-five
  • Most of these "Tibetan drifters" are in their 30s, and most of them are engaged in tourism related industries, such as running homestays, acting as guides, or purchasing some agricultural products and handicrafts with national characteristics. They said, "The money here is easier to earn than that in the mainland..." In 2006, when the Qinghai Tibet Railway opened, Wang Yinlong excitedly bought a train ticket and came to Lhasa from Liaoyuan, Jilin. In this way, I never left, opened an inn, climbed a snowy mountain, got married... I realized one wish after another here.

  • Wang Yinlong used to be a fat man and lived nine to five in his hometown. Although he did design work and had a stable income, he felt that it was not the life he wanted. Climbing Mount Everest is one of his dreams. After settling down in Tibet, he began to exercise in preparation for climbing Mount Everest.

  • "Even if you reach the last 100 meters, every step you take is as long as a century. You can't stop. There is a time limit for oxygen. If you slow down for a second, you will be closer to death." Wang Yinlong described the difficult process of climbing Mount Everest. He said that it is this process that makes people feel that life is full of flavor. Outside the tent of Camp 2, Wang Yinlong took this picture from a distance. Some of the people who climbed the mountain with him never left the tent.

  • Wang Yinlong also experienced the "traffic jam" on Mount Everest. He said that the reason is not as simple as what has been reported from the outside world. For example, everyone believes that the reason is that there are more and more climbers. The fact is that some mountaineers do not evaluate their own abilities enough, and they place their hopes on others. They feel that in case of an accident, there is a rescue team around them. To climb Mount Everest in China, you must apply for special approval to the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China. One of the conditions is that you must have experience in climbing a peak of more than 8000 meters. In Nepal, as long as some climbers pay the corresponding fees, the threshold will become lower. Even if they have not climbed the 8000 meter mountain, the guide company will try to handle the application. This will lead to "traffic jam" of the whole team if one person fails.

  • It takes three to four years for an ordinary person to prepare to climb Mount Everest. Low altitude outdoor activities, physical fitness training, and basic technical learning are mainly physical endurance, cardiopulmonary function, leg and waist strength, and carrying capacity training, which should be completed in about one year. Then enter the high altitude air thin zone, starting from the 6000 meter peak, and gradually become the 7000 meter and 8000 meter peaks. This phase takes 1 year at the earliest, and generally 2-3 years. Finally, it took half a year to prepare for Everest climbing. Wang Yinlong reached the summit of Mount Everest twice in 2016 and 2018. The second time, at the moment of the summit, he completed the most important thing in his life: proposing. The bride is Guan Xian, a Tibetan girl from Guangdong.

  • Today, both husband and wife live in Lhasa. Wang Yinlong has become a professional outdoor activity leader and often travels on business. Guan Xian spent half of her time in the store, running a large home stay with 50 rooms. The other half was preparing for conquering the next snow mountain. The circle agreed that they were the most successful "Tibetan drifters".

  • Li Jun, a boy from Deyang, Sichuan, has been looking for a reason to stay since he became obsessed with the natural scenery and cultural customs of Tibet. "Photography, it must be photography." So he became a photographer and formed an outdoor wedding photography team.

  • Every time he shoots, it is like a bitter journey. Li Jun talked about his experience. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there was no intermission. From working in the south to joining the army and retiring from the army; From Sleeping Bridge Cave to the champion of world-class beauty and makeup contest; From penniless to Lhasa, he was worth ten million yuan in just four years; From the protagonist of the record to zero in a flash... The big man of 1.9 meters said that he had gone up and down in Tibet, and the last sentence was "I will not fall down so easily."

  • All the beautiful scenes in his photos come from the real photos. Li Jun said that if taking photos in Tibet had to wait until later, it would be very sorry for the snow mountains, grasslands, blue sky and white clouds here.

  • What newcomers get is not only a wedding photo album, but also another travel experience during the whole shooting process. The photo of Li Jun and his entrepreneurship story in Tibet became the feature film of CCTV, Crazy Photographer. Now, his appointment to shoot has been scheduled for three months.

  • Lu Junyi studied beauty and hairdressing for many years in Hangzhou, but it is difficult to start a business from scratch in Hangzhou, a city full of talents. When he arrived in Lhasa, he was penniless and could not even afford to pay for the accommodation in the small hotel. He said, "Boss, why don't I cut your hair?" After cutting, the boss looked in the mirror and said, "The technique is good. Stay here. I will give you 10000 yuan to start a shop."

  • Six years later, Lu Junyi's hair salon has become the leader of Lhasa's hairdressing industry. His shop is in the most expensive shopping mall in the city, and his appearance fee is as high as thousands of yuan each time. The people who make appointments are still in a long queue.

  • After the realization of financial freedom, Lu Junyi spent only half of the year in Lhasa. His apprentice could stand alone in his shop. The other half of the time, he traveled around the world while learning technology. But as long as he was in Lhasa, he would take time to go to the surrounding villages to give the elderly free haircuts. He said that Tibet gave him the opportunity to start afresh.

  • Zhao Can, a native of Pingdingshan, Henan Province, spent three years working in Lhasa, and then bought an SUV to lead a private customized tour, taking guests through the beautiful scenery every day. When driving outdoors in Tibet, we often encounter vehicles in need of rescue. Zhao Can is always eager to help.

  • In college, he studied mining machinery. In that coal mining city, in those years, young people would study related majors in order to get jobs in the future. However, when resources ran out, people left. Zhao Can also had to leave. At that time, he was also a youth who lost both jobs and love. Then he chose the direction to Lhasa. Because he checked the map, there were many temples along the way, and he wanted to become a monk. A master took him in. Although he didn't become a monk in the end, he taught him to be warm-hearted and kind.

  • In the past two years, another part of his income comes from helping Tibetans resell some agricultural and livestock products. Recently I met several young people who just came to Tibet. They are collecting some artworks from Tibetan areas and reselling them to some collectors in the mainland. Zhao Can also became interested in this business.

  • Zhao Can has no fixed residence in Lhasa and only rents a bed in a small hotel at 20 yuan per night. Living day by day, I carry my suitcase with me. He often goes out for a car. It's not worthwhile to rent a house for a long time, which saves money. The trunk is all his possessions.

  • Half a year ago, Hou Yuxi, 22, came to Lhasa with the band from Anhui for commercial performance. A month later, the band returned after completing the commercial performance contract. Xiao Hou stayed here for a simple reason: the air here is good. Xiaohou An sat quietly on the stage. She played the guitar very well and sang very well.

  • After stepping down from the stage, Xiao Hou chatted with his new friends in Lhasa. "To be honest, in the first and second tier cities, the competition is too fierce, even if it is singing in bars! It is different in Lhasa, where there is less pressure..."

  • The only thing that made her feel a little lost was that it was too far away from home, and she would be afraid on the way home alone in the dead of night.
