Introduction to Social Worker Examination

From 2008, China will carry out the professional level examination for social workers. The first national professional level examination for social workers was held from June 28 to 29, 2008, which marks that the construction of China's social work talent evaluation system has entered the implementation stage.

The examination for social workers is a new vocational qualification examination. The Examination Syllabus for the Professional Level of Assistant Social Workers and Social Workers and the Examination Syllabus for Senior Social Workers have been approved by the Ministry of Personnel, which means that social workers are included in the national category of professional technicians for the first time. Registration time of social worker

The specific registration date for the professional level examination of social workers shall be arranged by the personnel examination center of each city, and the online registration time shall not be less than 15 days. Application conditions for social workers

Entry requirements for the examination of junior social workers:

（1） Have obtained a high school or technical secondary school education, and have been engaged in social work for at least 4 years;

（2） Get a college degree in social work and have been engaged in social work for at least 2 years;

（3） Undergraduate of social work;

（4） College degree in other majors, and at least 4 years of social work experience;

（5） Bachelor degree or above in other majors, and have been engaged in social work for at least 2 years.

Intermediate social worker examination registration conditions:

（1） Having obtained a high school or technical secondary school degree and a certificate of professional level of assistant social worker, he has been engaged in social work for at least 6 years;

（2） Get a college degree or above in social work, and have been engaged in social work for at least 4 years;

（3） Obtain a bachelor's degree in social work, and have been engaged in social work for at least 3 years;

（4） Obtained a master's degree in social work, and engaged in social work for at least one year;

（5） Obtained a doctor's degree in social work;

（6） If he/she has obtained a college degree or above in other specialties, his/her years of social work will be correspondingly increased by 2 years.

Application conditions for senior social worker examination:

（1） Bachelor degree or above (or bachelor degree or above);

（2） After obtaining the qualification of social work teacher (intermediate) through the National Social Worker Vocational Level Examination, he has been engaged in social work for 5 years.

Social Worker Examination Subject

The examination subjects for junior social workers are Comprehensive Ability of Social Work (Primary) and Social Work Practice (Primary).

The subjects of the vocational level examination for intermediate social workers are Comprehensive Social Work Competence (Intermediate), Social Work Practice (Intermediate) and Social Work Laws and Policies.

The subject of the professional level examination for senior social workers is Social Work Practice (Advanced).

Content of Social Worker Examination

The examination subjects for junior social workers are Comprehensive Ability of Social Work (Primary) and Social Work Practice (Primary).
The subjects of the vocational level examination for intermediate social workers are Comprehensive Social Work Competence (Intermediate), Social Work Practice (Intermediate) and Social Work Laws and Policies.
Among them, Social Work Comprehensive Competence (Primary), Social Work Practice (Primary), Social Work Comprehensive Competence (Intermediate) and Social Work Laws and Policies are objective questions, which are answered with answer cards; Social Work Practice (Intermediate) uses special answer cards to answer subjective questions, and carries out unified national grading.

The examination subject of senior social work teachers is Social Work Practice (Advanced), and the subject of Social Work Practice (Advanced) is subjective, which is conducted in a closed book manner and answers on a special answer card.

Issuance of Social Worker Certificate

The registration service system shall be implemented for the certificates of professional level of social workers. The holder of the level certificate shall go to the designated unit for registration and continuing education according to relevant regulations.
