Introduction to Shanxi

Shanxi, located to the west of Taihang Mountain and east of the Yellow River, was the territory of the State of Jin in the Spring and Autumn Period more than 2000 years ago, so it has been called Jin for short. Shanxi is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation. On this land, human beings lived and multiplied 100000 years ago. Shanxi has a long history, excellent cultural heritage and glorious revolutionary tradition. The legendary "Yao Capital Pingyang", "Shun Capital Puban" and "Yu Capital Anyi" are all in the south of Shanxi. This is today's Yaodu District, Yuncheng Yongji and Xiaxian County in Linfen. In the Zhou Dynasty, Shanxi was the territory of the Tang State. Later, Tang Shuyu's son, Xie Fu, changed the country name to Jin because Tang was in Jinshui. In the Spring and Autumn Period, Shanxi was one of the five hegemonic states. At the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, Han, Zhao and Wei stood in a tripartite confrontation, and the three families were divided into Jin. Together with Qin, Chu, Qi and Yan, they were called the Seventh Warring States Period
