PED certification_pressure vessel CE certification process
The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED, 97/23/EC) is one of the directives. It is the directive for pressure equipment in many EU directives, which stipulates the basic safety requirements (ESRs) for pressure equipment and maintains the existing safety level of pressure equipment in the EU. This applies to pressure vessels, steam boilers, pipes, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pressure relief devices, valves, regulating valves and other pressure equipment with a high allowable pressure of 0.5 bar. According to the risk category of the generated product, you can select different module combinations to meet the PED requirements and obtain the authorization to use the CE mark. The EU pressure equipment directive was updated from 97/23/EC to 2014/68/EU, and the new directive will be enforced in July 2016.

The CE mark is a proof that the products with the CE mark represent that they comply with the basic safety provisions of the relevant directives and can freely circulate in the European market. According to PED specification, pressure equipment and components for specific pressure/volume threshold shall:
• Safety
• Meet the basic safety requirements for design, manufacturing, and testing
• Meet appropriate conformity assessment procedures
• Labeling with CE mark and relevant regulations
Pressure equipment and components below the specific pressure/volume threshold shall:
• Safety
• Designed and manufactured according to sound engineering practice
• Affixing relevant regulations (CE mark is not necessary)
PED conformity assessment:
The conformity assessment procedure is applicable to Class I~IV equipment.
The selection combination of PED certification manufacturers is as follows:
