1、 Discipline Overview

This subject originates from the Railway Business Management College of Beijing Jiaotong University, which has a history of more than 100 years, and the later developed disciplines of railway economy, transportation economy and industrial economy.

◆ It was awarded the first batch of master's degree in 1981 and the first batch of doctor's degree in 1986. It is the first doctor's degree program in economics set up among science and engineering universities in China;

◆ In 1987, it became the first batch of national key disciplines, the only national key discipline in China with transportation economy as the main direction, and was again rated as a national key discipline in 2001;

◆ In 2007, the secondary discipline of industrial economics of Beijing Jiaotong University was rated as a national key discipline;

◆ In 2012, applied economics was added as a key first level discipline in Beijing, and ranked 12th in the third round of discipline evaluation.

2、 Scientific research achievements in recent four years

◆ Undertake 311 scientific research projects with a total funding of more than 57 million yuan;

◆ 223 papers on CSSCI and CSCD, 73 papers on international retrieval journals such as SSCI (SCI) and EI;

◆ Published 24 academic monographs and 3 national planning textbooks;

◆ 6 national and provincial awards for scientific research and 2 provincial and ministerial awards for excellent teaching achievements for teaching;

◆ The economics specialty was rated as a national characteristic specialty construction site, and the transportation economics team was rated as a national excellent teaching team.

3、 Impact at home and abroad

We have participated in the research and demonstration of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Railways (China Railway Corporation), Beijing and other provinces, cities and autonomous regions in terms of medium - and long-term traffic planning, traffic regulation, traffic price adjustment, investment and financing system reform, and industrial safety.

The annual Transport and Space Time Economic Forum, Industrial Security and Development Forum, Science and Technology Innovation Forum, Financial Forum, and the weekly lecture system have attracted a large number of well-known experts and scholars from the industry at home and abroad.

It has successively established cooperative relations with more than 20 foreign first-class universities in transportation economics, industrial economics and other disciplines, such as the University of California, Berkeley, Northwestern University and the University of Leeds.
