At 9:19, train D1758 left Luzhou Station. At the same time, the first train in Zigong also slowly left Zigong North Station. Since then, Luzhou and Zigong in Sichuan have entered the "era of high-speed railway".
The Inner Luzhou Section of Mianyang Luzhou High speed Railway is located in the southern region of Sichuan Province. It starts from Neijiang North Station of the Chengdu Chongqing Intercity Railway in Neijiang City in the north, passes Baima Town in the south, and enters Zigong City, and then enters Luzhou City via Fushun County. The line is 128 kilometers long, with 7 stations, including Neijiang North (existing), Neijiang East, Baima North, Zigong, Fushun, Luxian County, and Luzhou, operating at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The construction of the Inner Zigong Luzhou Section of Mianyang Luzhou High speed Railway was started in June 2016, and the joint commissioning and test will be started in May 2021. At the initial stage of opening, the railway department arranged to run 11 pairs of multiple unit trains, including 1 pair from Luzhou to Guiyang North, 1 pair from Luzhou to Xi'an North, 1 pair from Luzhou to Guangzhou South, 4.5 pairs from Chengdu East to Luzhou, 0.5 pairs from Mianyang to Luzhou, 2.5 pairs from Chengdu East to Zigong (Fushun), and 0.5 pairs from Zigong to Mianyang.
The section of Mianyang Luzhou High speed Railway from Luzhou connects Chengdu Chongqing Intercity Railway in the north and Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway in the south, which is an important part of the intercity railway network of Chengdu Chongqing double city economic circle. After opening, Zigong and Luzhou will be fully integrated into the national high-speed railway network, forming a half-hour traffic circle in southern Sichuan and a 1-hour traffic circle to Chengdu and Chongqing, adding new impetus to the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing dual city economic circle.
It is reported that tickets for EMU trains in Mianyang Luzhou High speed Railway from Luzhou Section have been sold since June 27. According to the current number of trains sold, the fastest train from Zigong to Chengdu is G8770, which takes 1 hour and 5 minutes and costs 93 yuan; The fastest train from Luzhou to Chengdu is D5112, which takes 1 hour and 30 minutes and costs 99 yuan.
