People's Daily Online, Chengdu, May 18 (Reporter Chen Xi) Today, the main Sichuan event of "May 18 International Museum Day" hosted by Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritage was held in Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan. Dai Yunkang, Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism, addressed the event, and representatives from cultural and museum units across the province attended the main event.

In his speech, Dai Yunkang reviewed the achievements made in the development of Sichuan museums in recent years, and hoped that the museum would actively serve the overall situation, take resource integration, cultural and tourism integration, and regional cooperation as the path, further stimulate innovation vitality, activate endogenous power, comprehensively improve the level of cultural relics protection, display and utilization, and continue to promote civilized exchanges and mutual learning, The museum will be built into a cultural hub with rich resources, active exhibitions and outstanding values, and become the core force to protect the tradition, lead the future and promote the development of contemporary society, making new and greater contributions to the construction of a strong cultural province and a strong tourism province in Sichuan.

Guan Qiang, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, sent a congratulatory message to the cultural and museum colleagues and friends from all walks of life in Sichuan, spoke highly of the outstanding achievements made in the development of Sichuan museums in recent years, and expressed gratitude on behalf of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage to the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Sichuan Provincial Government for attaching great importance to the development of cultural relics museums, Sichuan is expected to make greater contributions to the development of Chinese museums.

At today's event, the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritage officially announced the winners of the "Top Ten Exhibition and Exhibition Boutiques of Provincial Museums in 2019", "Top Ten Interpreters", "Top Ten Volunteers", "Top Ten Short Videos of Cultural Museum", "Top Ten Cultural Museum Education Cases" and other awards, and held an award ceremony. Guests attending the event also jointly unveiled the "Exhibition of Ancient Cities, Ancient Countries and Ancient Shu Culture" of Sanxingdui Museum.

It is understood that the "Exhibition of Ancient Shu Culture in Ancient Cities and Ancient Countries" is a new basic exhibition launched after the transformation and upgrading of Sanxingdui Museum, which is divided into two parts: the comprehensive museum and the bronze museum. Combined with new research achievements, the exhibition comprehensively and systematically presents the theme of Sanxingdui culture, man and god, and the brilliant achievements of Sanxingdui ancient Shu in various fields, centering on a large number of exquisite cultural relics unearthed in Sanxingdui, through a new interpretation of audio-visual multimedia technology. It highlights the important value and role played by the ancient Shu civilization represented by Sanxingdui, as an important part of the pluralistic integration of Chinese civilization, in the origin and formation of Chinese civilization. At the same time, the cultural and creative museum specially built by Sanxingdui Museum and the "Sanxingdui Play in the Country" - Youth Education Center also officially appeared. The new appearance and operation of the "three museums and one center" of the comprehensive museum, the bronze museum, the cultural and creative museum and the youth education center marks that the Sanxingdui Museum has fully resumed its opening with a new look after being closed due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The chairman of the Museology Committee of the International Association of Museums Francois Meres, the curator of Italy's Paestum Archaeological Heritage Park Gabriel Chuchterig, and Xu Jie, the American Museum of Asian Art in San Francisco, and other friends in the international museum community also sent congratulatory speeches to express their good wishes to the colleagues in Sichuan.
