Mazu's hometown
Putian is the hometown of Mazu, the "goddess of peace on the sea", and the birthplace of Mazu culture. "The ancestors of Mazu are in Meizhou." Meizhou Mazu Temple is the ancestral temple of all Mazu Fenling temples in the world, and is also the core area of the world's intangible cultural heritage - Mazu belief and custom. Every year on the 23rd day of March and the ninth day of September of the lunar calendar, millions of Mazu believers gather on Meizhou Island to worship their ancestors.
Literature Name State
Putian has a long history. Since the three Zheng brothers came to study in Putian during the Liang and Chen dynasties of the Southern Dynasties, it has a history of more than 1500 years. Here, the culture is prosperous, the science and technology is at its peak, the talents are gathered, and famous officials emerge in large numbers. Duzong of the Song Dynasty praised "Putian is a country of literature", and Zhu Xi sighed "Putian is full of people". Through the continuous evolution of the Song and Ming dynasties, the name of "literature famous state" was finally determined in the 16th year of Wanli (1588) of the Ming Dynasty, and became an important card of Putian.

Since Putian was founded, it has made outstanding achievements in port city construction, gradually expanded its urban area, and constantly improved its road network, initially forming a pattern of "big traffic, big city". Hometown of Opera
Putian Opera is typical of Puxian Opera and Puppet Opera. Puxian Opera originated in the Tang Dynasty, became in the Song Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and shines in modern times. It is one of the existing ancient and unique local operas in China, known as the "living fossil of Southern Opera in the Song and Yuan Dynasties". Puppet show, which was called "puppet show" in ancient times, is said by the academic circles to be "originated in Han Dynasty and flourished in Tang Dynasty". Putian is known as the "hometown of opera" because of the prosperity of opera performance.

Putian arts and crafts flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. With a long history and exquisite skills, it has a unique local style and profound cultural connotation, and is famous at home and abroad.
