From 2006 to 2023, he successively presided over the implementation of the national soil testing formula fertilization subsidy and fertilizer reduction and efficiency increase project, and won a total of 6.72 million yuan of special national funds. The application of soil testing formula fertilization technology was promoted in an area of 10.706 million mu. The main grain crops increased 284000 tons of grain through soil testing formula fertilization technology, with a total increase of income and savings of 642 million yuan.

Scientific irrigation is also very important. It used to flood irrigated land, which took time and effort to return water. Wang Qing'an and his team improved the integrated technology of water and fertilizer used in protected land cultivation, successfully copied it to food crops, and popularized it throughout the county. From 2019 to 2023, Wang Qing'an presided over the promotion of micro sprinkler irrigation and drip irrigation water fertilizer integration technology on wheat, corn and other crops, covering an area of 120000 mu, saving 6 million cubic meters of water, saving 600 tons of fertilizer, increasing 9000 tons of grain, and adding 27.6 million yuan of benefits.

Let technology enter villages and households to fields

The grass root agricultural technology team has few staff and many service objects. In order to speed up the introduction of technology into villages and households, Wang Qing'an has thought of many ways, including scanning code and WeChat.

When popularizing the soil testing and formulated fertilization technology, Wang Qing'an edited the "Questions and Answers on Soil Testing and Formulated Fertilization Technology in Huojia County", which was loved by farmers and was reprinted twice. Later, Wang Qing'an set up a WeChat official account, established several agricultural technology WeChat groups, and often released information such as farmland moisture briefing, farming management, disease and pest forecast to guide field production. In Wang Qing'an's mobile phone, there are more than a dozen different types of agricultural technology WeChat groups. Two thirds of WeChat friends and mobile phone contacts are farmers.

Online promotion is not enough. Wang Qing'an often goes to various training classes in Henan Province to promote the technology of water fertilizer integration. In the past two years, he has carried out 50 technical trainings on the integration of water and fertilizer for grain crops in several cities and counties, and 4500 person times have been trained for large farmers. In December 2022, the "grain crop water and fertilizer double reduction technology", which was mainly taught by him, was selected as a compulsory course of online training course for grass-roots agricultural technicians in Henan Province.

Why spend so much effort to promote technology? Wang Qing'an gave an example. Wheat needs water in the filling period. According to the traditional flood irrigation method, one mu of land should be watered at least 60 cubic meters. The ears of wheat are heavy in the later stage. In addition, the soil is soft after flood irrigation, and wheat is prone to lodging in strong wind, resulting in yield reduction. "Taking the micro irrigation technology that we promote and giving appropriate irrigation to supplement soil moisture can improve the microclimate in the field and achieve the effects of slow root senescence, long grouting time, plump grains and high 1000 grain weight."
