Dehua Daxingbao Cultural Relics Protection and Repair Project Launched

On May 12, www.dongdong.com.cn (our reporter Lin Jie's correspondent Zheng Zhide Su Yanbin), recently, at the construction site of Daxingbao Cultural Relics Protection Project in Sanban Village, Sanban Town, Dehua County, craftsmen were making wooden components such as floor sills, wooden columns and beams, and installing tenons and mortises on the second floor of Zone 1. It is reported that the project is divided into three areas, and construction will start in April 2024. At present, scaffolding, roof protection shed and ramp erection in the three areas have been completed. It will be repaired according to the "construction drawings approved by the provincial cultural relics", and is planned to be completed by the end of March 2025.

It is reported that Daxing Castle was built in the 61st year of Kangxi (1722 A.D.) and has a history of 302 years. It is a single eaved stone and wood structure of Xieshan style. It covers an area of 3648 square meters and has 240 rooms. In September 2018, it was listed as the ninth batch of key cultural relics protection units in Fujian Province. It is a well protected fortress style ancient building in Dehua County and even Quanzhou.

After the completion of the project, new business forms such as home stay and ceramic culture exhibition hall will be introduced to create a cultural relics tourism clock in point, and then connect with Weilin - Neiban kiln site, tea set city, Yueji kiln to create Dehua ceramic culture tourism boutique route.
