Sarcophytaceae: a medicinal fungus unique to Yunnan, which grows in the northwest of Yunnan. It is named because it parasitizes on bamboo branches and is red. It contains 4% of hypocrellin A, B, C and mannitol respectively, and is a newly discovered photochemical drug. Hypocrellin A is safe for external use after animal toxicity test. Hypocrellin ointment is a specific drug for the treatment of white lesions and scars of the vulva.
