Although it is less than half a month before the beginning of summer, the deep Kunlun Mountains in the south of Hotan, Xinjiang, are still covered with snow, and more than 100 workers are busy in the front line of power engineering construction.

The 220kV power transmission and transformation project in Hetian Rare Metal Mining Industrial Park is at the critical stage, and the construction personnel of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. carry out tower erection, line erection and other work in high altitude mountainous areas. The total investment of the project is about 586 million yuan. The project will be started in February 2023. The total length of the transmission line is about 210 kilometers, spanning the Gobi, desert, mountains, etc. The terrain is dangerous and the environment is harsh. The project is expected to be completed by the end of June this year. After completion and operation, it will provide strong power guarantee for high-quality development of local economy.
