In order to enable residents in the area under jurisdiction to deeply understand the knowledge of disaster prevention and reduction, improve their ability of self rescue and mutual rescue, master the first aid measures and methods to deal with disasters, ensure that emergency relief can be implemented quickly, orderly and efficiently when disasters occur, and maximize the protection of residents' life and property safety. Recently, Yingdong Red Cross volunteers from Yingdong Community, Meiyuan Sub district, Yuehu District, Yingtan City carried out the "5.12 Knowledge of Disaster Prevention and Reduction" publicity campaign in their jurisdiction.

During the activity, community staff introduced how to reduce the loss of their lives and property caused by major natural disasters and accidental disasters and reduce potential disaster risks to residents in plain language by setting up publicity booths, distributing publicity materials, publicizing emergency knowledge and other ways. In combination with several major fire accidents in recent years, real cases are used to bring warning education to residents, so that residents can more deeply understand the importance of disaster prevention and reduction. At the same time, it also popularized the skills of family fire prevention, aerial charging danger, how to use fire extinguishers, how to escape safely and so on, improved the fire safety awareness of the people in the area under jurisdiction, and enhanced the ability of residents to respond to sudden disasters.

This activity further strengthened the community residents' emergency safety awareness and emergency self rescue and mutual rescue ability, and created a good publicity atmosphere for disaster prevention and reduction. In the future, Yingdong Community will continue to carry out various forms of disaster prevention and mitigation publicity and education activities, refine the common sense of disaster prevention and mitigation into the daily life of community residents, constantly consolidate the foundation of mass prevention and governance, and build a strong line of people's defense for disaster prevention, mitigation and relief.
