Reporter: Adhering to high-quality development is the only way for the healthy development of private economy. How does Pinduoduo understand and achieve high-quality development?
Zhao Jiazhen: In recent years, China's economy has shifted from a stage of rapid growth to a stage of high-quality development. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized that we should accelerate the construction of a powerful agricultural country. Pinduoduo Development follows this trend closely.
Pinduoduo started from agriculture and created a "rural land cloud competition" mode characterized by competition, which built a high-speed road for agricultural goods to go up, and promoted farmers to become rich and increase their income. Buy more vegetables, innovate the supply chain and the "field to table" mode, and further improve the circulation efficiency of agricultural and sideline products. In addition, we continue to increase R&D investment. In 2022, the R&D expenses of Pinduoduo will increase by 15% year on year, amounting to more than 10 billion yuan. Zhao Jiazhen: High quality development puts forward higher requirements for the development of private economy. Since this year, Pinduoduo has defined high-quality development as the most important goal and task in the next stage, and is implementing high-quality development in platform governance, business ecology, high-quality supply chain, high-quality consumption and other aspects by investing in scientific and technological innovation, participating in international competition and other ways.
Taking the optimization of platform governance and ecological construction as an example, recently, we launched six major measures for platform governance, and deepened governance in food and drug safety, juvenile protection, and business broadcast compliance. Previously, we carried out systematic management of minors' protection, copyright protection and other goods and stores in a special form. We hope to further expand and consolidate this achievement, continue to optimize the platform governance capacity, and build a healthier platform ecology.
In terms of high-quality consumption, since this year, we have continuously improved our ability of "good service" while providing "more benefits". At present, most of the categories have upgraded from 72 hour delivery support to 48 hour delivery support. In terms of after-sales strategy, the service preference is given to the elderly and consumers in remote areas. At the same time, more proactive customer service strategies are implemented to provide consumers with a refund only, partial compensation or return refund scheme according to the actual situation.
In the process of transformation, we may encounter pains and doubts, but this does not affect us to persist in doing the right thing. How does Pinduoduo feel about this?
Zhao Jiazhen: The business environment is the soil for the survival and development of enterprises, and Pinduoduo is the direct beneficiary of a good business environment and various new economic policies.
The growth and development of Pinduoduo benefits from the good business environment in Shanghai. For example, in terms of policy guidance, in recent years, Shanghai has successively released plans to promote e-commerce, online new economic development and other related programs. A series of policies not only improved the confidence of enterprises, but also built a good ecosystem for the development and growth of strategic emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, new energy, mobile Internet, etc. In terms of talent security, a series of practical measures, such as talent rental subsidies, special talent settlement, and senior management team rewards, have attracted more outstanding talents to join the fight for more.

Zhao Jiazhen: Last September, we launched the "Duoduo cross-border" business, targeting overseas end mass consumers, hoping to help China's manufacturing industry directly connect with overseas consumers and expand the export channels of China's manufacturing industry. At the same time, Pinduoduo also launched the "Seagoing Support Plan" to provide manufacturing enterprises with comprehensive infrastructure services and integrated sea going solutions, including domestic and foreign warehousing, cross-border logistics and after-sales services. At present, "Duoduo Cross border" has successively promoted tens of thousands of manufacturing enterprises in clothing, digital, household appliances, luggage, outdoor, accessories, toys, stationery, etc. to successfully connect with overseas markets. For example, after a beauty company in Fengxian, Shanghai, received Pinduoduo's overseas support, it soon achieved sales of more than 15000 beauty products.
