On May 24, SAIC Group officially released a new generation of base technology for the "new track" at the "SAIC Group New Energy Technology Conference for the New Decade". This new technology includes a three-step strategy for solid-state batteries.

First of all, the light year battery that has been applied to Zhiji L6 model is at the stage of 10% liquid content, which indicates that the current applied product is liquid battery. Secondly, in the second phase, it is expected that 5% of the product liquid content, namely all solid state batteries, will be carried on a large scale next year. The goal of the third stage is to reduce the product liquid content to 0, that is, all solid state batteries are used. Mass production is planned to start in 2026.

According to SAIC, they chose to use polymer inorganic composite electrolyte technology to develop all solid state batteries. In addition, the first all solid state battery production line of SAIC Qingtao has been approved and is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. The capacity of Phase I is planned to be 0.5GWh, and the energy density of Phase I products can reach more than 400Wh/kg, while Phase II products are expected to exceed 500Wh/kg.
