AMD Strix Halo APU exposure: 120W TDP, supporting 64GB memory

According to reliable sources, AMD Strix Halo mobile APU has started shipping. The thermal design power consumption of the APU is 120W, and it supports a maximum memory capacity of 64GB. This shows that Strix Halo will be a chip with strong performance, which can compete with Apple's M3/M4 series.

According to previous reports, the Strix Halo series processors adopt a multi chip packaging structure, including two different cores (CPU chip) and an integrated GPU chip). The two cores communicate using an interconnect bridge.

Each Strix Halo processor contains up to 16 Zen5 cores, 64MB L3 cache, and an NPU with 70TOPS computing power. At the same time, it also provides up to 16 PCIe channels.

The GPU part of this product reaches 20WGP (40CU), adopts RDNA3.5 architecture, and is equipped with up to 32MB of unlimited cache (that is, the MALL cache mentioned in the previous report).

As for memory, each Strix Halo processor has 16 16 bit wide LPDDR5 memory channels, with a total memory bit width of 256 bits, which is equivalent to four channel DDR5.
