It crossed the sea and appeared in "fruit plates" around the world; A new scientific and technological product from Guangdong was brought to the Consumer Expo and will appear in the foreign market soon. In the past three years, consumer goods from all over the world have poured into Hainan and reached the global market through the Consumer Expo, an exhibition of "buying the world" and "selling the world".

On April 15, the 3rd China International Consumer Goods Expo (hereinafter referred to as "Consumer Goods Expo") ended in the joy of exhibitors returning with full loads.

The "spillover effect" of the Consumer Expo has not only been amplified, but also continues to emerge. A Consumer Expo makes the world see the consumption potential of China's big market again, and the never ending Consumer Expo continues to provide a window of opportunity for the world to share China's big market.

   Seek new opportunities and expand the "circle of friends"

The Consumer Expo is the first major international exhibition held after the smooth transition of the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in China. Exhibitors gathered in Hainan to seek new opportunities, expand the "circle of friends", and set off an upsurge of "big investment, big business" at the Consumer Expo.

Shaanxi Famous Consumer Goods Promotion Conference, Haikou National High tech Zone International Biomedical Industry Investment Promotion and Signing Activity, Lingshui Global Investment Promotion "Yelin District Old City Reconstruction and Urban Renewal"... During the holding of the Consumer Expo, dozens of investment promotion events were held closely, continuously highlighting the "spillover effect" of the Consumer Expo.

As an exhibitor who participated in the Consumer Expo for the first time, Wei Xuechao, Deputy General Manager of Qinghai Goldway Biological Health Co., Ltd., warmly welcomed the audience in the Qinghai Pavilion. He said: "Through the Consumer Expo platform, we have met new customers from Japan, Italy and other countries. At present, the amount of intended orders has reached more than 8 million yuan, and the amount of orders clinched in two days has exceeded 200000 yuan."

Feng Guang, Deputy Director of Haikou National High tech Zone Management Committee, introduced at the investment promotion of Haikou National High tech Zone that as one of the key parks of Hainan Free Trade Port, Haikou National High tech Zone has always embraced the Consumer Expo with high enthusiasm. Since the Consumer Expo was held, more than 10 enterprises, including Huaxi, Yiling, and Susheng, which landed in the park, have participated in the Consumer Expo with their first show products and "flagship products", including innovative achievements, cutting-edge technologies, and world-class exhibits.

In Feng Guang's view, through the platform of the Consumer Expo, Haikou National High tech Zone has fully demonstrated its own advantages and new opportunities for win-win cooperation and opening up of the free trade port. The "circle of friends" has also expanded from "inter provincial" to "international".

At this year's Consumer Expo, the Shaanxi delegation held the Shaanxi Famous and High Quality Consumer Products Promotion Conference with the theme of "Excellent Product Selection · Shaanyao Global". Yang Miao, director of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, said at the promotion meeting that Shaanxi had organized 150 "high, new, excellent and special" products to be displayed in Hainan. Yang Miao hopes to take this Consumer Expo as an opportunity to further expand exchanges with Hainan Province and sister provinces and cities, deepen cooperation with global consumer brand enterprises, and achieve win-win results.

At the site, some Shaanxi enterprises signed procurement cooperation agreements with the exhibitors of the Consumer Expo, involving electronic technology, modern agriculture, beverage and dairy industry and other fields.

The Hubei Regiment also gained a lot. On April 11, the third Hubei International Brand Matchmaking Conference was held in Haikou, Hainan Province. With the help of the Consumer Expo, the Hubei delegation signed 28 key projects a day with an amount of more than 10 billion yuan, attracting international brands to settle in Hubei and promoting local high-quality brands to go out of Hubei.

The economic and trade delegation of 200 enterprises and more than 800 people enthusiastically participated in the exhibition, and the 700 square meter Guangdong Pavilion was full of bright spots... During the Consumer Expo, the 2023 Guangdong Industry Investment Promotion Conference of "Guangdong Trade Nationwide" attracted much attention. Xu Ruisheng, vice chairman of the CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee, warmly invited businessmen to invest in Guangdong at the promotion meeting to share the opportunities and dividends of Guangdong's development.

At the promotion meeting, the guests and businessmen expressed that they would make full use of the favorable policies and seize the favorable opportunities to invest and take root in Guangdong. Relevant people of the promotion conference said that as one of the series of activities of the "Global Consumption Forum" of this Consumer Expo, this promotion conference demonstrated Guangdong's confidence and determination to fully attract investment and promote high-quality development.

   Foreign businessmen continue to plough deep into Hainan

The enthusiasm of some regions for "big investment and business", combined with Hainan's "big opening" attitude, has attracted investors from all over the world. Many international exhibitors said that they would continue to explore China's big market and deeply cultivate Hainan, the frontier of opening-up.

As an "old friend", France once again participated in the Consumer Expo in the form of a national pavilion. At the opening ceremony of the French Pavilion, Bai Yutang, the French ambassador to China, said: "Today, French enterprises actively participate in the development of Hainan, and go all out to help Hainan become a global exhibition and trading platform for high-quality products."

Ni Qiang, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, said that the Consumer Expo has become an important display window and trading platform for French consumer products. Many French enterprises are actively exploring China's super large market through the major opening platform of the Consumer Expo.

"Hainan Free Trade Port is increasingly becoming a new hot spot for global investment." Ni Qiang pointed out that Hainan will further play the role of an important intersection of domestic and international double circulation, and strive to launch the island wide customs closure operation in due time before the end of 2025, when it will attract more people, logistics and capital flows.

As the "resident guest" of the Consumer Expo, Estee Lauder continues to layout in Hainan. On April 11, Estee Lauder Group signed a cooperation agreement with Hainan International Economic Development Bureau and Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone Management Committee, announcing that Estee Lauder Tourism Retail Asia Pacific Logistics Center and China Headquarters were located in Hainan.

Javier Simon, president of global business of tourism retail of Estee Lauder Group, said: "With the vigorous development of Hainan Free Trade Port, the Group's brands have performed well in the tax-free market of Hainan Islands, and we are confident of the future development of Hainan."

"China's beauty consumer market has huge growth potential." Caroline Andreotti, chief commercial officer of Coty Group's high-end beauty, said that Coty will continue to cultivate China. In recent years, Coty has opened 29 brand counters in Hainan. She revealed that in the next fiscal year, Coty plans to increase its brand counters to 38, including 7 independent brand boutiques. In the future, Coty will fully explore the Chinese skin care market, and is expected to double the sales of the group's skin care products business by the fiscal year 2025.

For L'Oreal, another "old friend" of the Consumer Expo, the Chinese market has become the second largest market of L'Oreal Group in the world, and the uniqueness of the Chinese market is increasingly evident. Fei Borui, president of L'Oreal North Asia and CEO of China, said that L'Oreal would continue to take advantage of the "spillover effect" of the Consumer Expo to bring more product choices to Chinese tourism retail consumers, and spare no effort to promote sustainable consumption to meet the growing demand of Chinese consumers for "beautiful consumption".
