The 6th Western China International Investment and Trade Fair (WCIF) opened in Chongqing on the 23rd, focusing on "new" with the theme of "new west, new manufacturing and new services", serving the western region to integrate into the new development pattern, cultivate new quality productivity, and shape new momentum and new advantages.

This is the first international exhibition with the theme of the west after the symposium on promoting the development of the west in the new era. At the West China International Trade Fair, these major projects were signed, outlining a new vision for the development of the west.

Focus on one "cooperation": open cooperation

The West China International Fair is a window for western provinces, autonomous regions and cities to connect with the world and explore opportunities. Wal Mart, Continental Group and other Fortune 500 enterprises, more than 1700 enterprises from 40 countries and regions as well as 27 provinces, autonomous regions and cities in China participated in the conference, and the participants also included the heads and experts of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and other domestic foreign trade associations.

The signed projects involve 12 foreign-funded projects, with a formal contract amount of 26.724 billion yuan, covering fields such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles, intelligent equipment and intelligent manufacturing, and modern finance, involving 12 countries and regions such as Russia, Spain, and Japan.

The testing service laboratory project of Spanish quality inspection and testing enterprise EPLAS, the production project of AFC China headquarters in Japan, and the R&D and production project of Huate Power's methanol reforming hydrogen fuel reactor in Greater China...... A number of foreign funded projects have been launched in the western region.

This session of the West China International Fair is also a big platform for the cooperation and development of western provinces, regions and cities. All 12 provinces, autonomous regions and cities in western China have sent representatives to participate in various activities. Sichuan has served as the guest of honor of the WCIF for five consecutive years. It will not only build theme booths to display advanced technologies and products, but also hold a series of economic and trade exchanges, and conduct field visits and negotiations in Chongqing.

Focus on one "new": innovative development

The inclusion of "new manufacturing" in the theme of this WCIF is to use the conference as a platform to promote the industrial transformation and upgrading in the western region.

The contracted projects fully reflect the characteristics of "new quality productivity": wind power generation and new charging pile portable energy storage battery project, new alloy material production base construction project, Zhongke nano new material southwest intelligent manufacturing base project... New energy, new materials, new generation electronic information and other strategic emerging industries are accelerating their layout in the western region.

When you enter the exhibition area, innovative elements come to you. At this Western China International Trade Fair, Chang'an Automobile released Chang'an Dark Blue G318, Fengmi (Chongqing) Innovative Technology released Xiaoming V1 Ultra intelligent projector, and Qiteng Robot released explosion-proof quadruped robot to the world... All kinds of innovative products such as intelligent networked new energy vehicles, industrial robots, gene detectors, Braille e-readers are too numerous to see.

Create a "pass": efficient circulation

From energy, transportation to science and technology, infrastructure projects are one of the key projects signed at this session of the WCIF, which will help the western region to complement its infrastructure weaknesses.

Haijing Oil (Guang'an) Refined Oil Warehousing and Wholesale Phase II Project, China Resources 200000 kW Wind Power Project, China Southern Power Grid Integrated Energy Project, China Unicom (Western) Digital Ecological Industrial Park Project... A number of infrastructure projects aim at the blocking points that hinder the smooth flow of elements, and are concentrated in Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and other western provinces, regions and cities.

This session of the West China International Trade Fair also set up a special exhibition area for the new land and sea channel in the west, presenting the achievements of the "13+2" provincial, district and city high-level joint construction of this new channel to the audience.

The new land sea channel in western China has realized the transformation from "one line" to "one network". At the beginning of its operation in 2017, there was only one logistics line, and now it has expanded to 514 ports in 123 countries around the world. The circulation of factors in western China is becoming more and more smooth.

The whole fruit of Cat Mountain King Durian imported from Malaysia through the new channel of land and sea in the west made its debut at the West China International Trade Fair. More and more new products enter the west along this new channel, enabling the western region to open up and develop.
