From May 31 to June 2, 2024, the first industrial theme musical "Chasing Dreams" of the General Art and Industry Troupe will be staged in the Central Opera House Theater, which tells the struggle process of Chinese railway people to "pursue dreams, modernize and draw a new picture together", and sings a song of workers in a new era.

According to Wang Tiejun, the screenwriter of Chasing the Dream, the play focuses on the development of China's high-speed railway and the great country craftsmen who silently pay and strive for perfection, telling a story about dreams, motivation and persistent pursuit.

From a little girl standing in front of the locomotive in the thick smoke and fog to a chief engineer who takes on an important task, the growth and struggle of Chen Yuhong, the protagonist of the story, is a microcosmic reflection of China's high-speed rail development process. The memory of childhood and the expectations of his parents are the inexhaustible driving force for the hero to move forward. It is precisely because engineers like Yuhong have quietly paid behind their backs that the speed of China's high-speed rail has broken records again and again. They have used their wisdom and efforts to promote the continuous progress of China's high-speed rail technology.

The whole play focuses on showing the core of the craftsmanship spirit of great countries - striving for perfection and excellence. This spirit is not only reflected in their demanding for every detail, but also in their boundless love and devotion to the high-speed rail industry.

Wang Tiejun said that he hoped to pay tribute to the workers who have worked silently for China's high-speed rail cause through Pursuing Dreams, and to encourage everyone to march forward bravely and make unremitting efforts on the road of pursuing dreams. It is hoped that through this work, more people can understand China's high-speed railway, love China's high-speed railway, and contribute to the future development of China's high-speed railway.
