In May 1927, Xu Kexiang, the head of the 33rd Regiment under He Jian, led the rebels to destroy the Hunan Federation of Trade Unions, the Farmers' Association and other organs and groups, disarm the workers' picket force and the farmers' self-defense army, and release all local tyrants and evil gentry in custody. There was a lot of gunfire in Changsha. The counter revolutionary coup was called the "Mari Incident" because the rhyme of the telegraph on that day referred to the date was "Ma".

After the Ma Ri Incident, Soong Ching ling issued a Statement to Protest the Violation of Sun Yat sen's Revolutionary Principles and Policies, accusing Nanjing and Wuhan of violating Sun Yat sen's revolutionary principles and policies, and announced his withdrawal from the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang.

Cheng Limei is currently working in Saihanba Machinery Forest Farm in Hebei Province, engaged in publicity work. She always adheres to the excellent quality of hardworking and selfless dedication of the older generation of Wulin people, carries forward the enterprising and aggressive spirit of young people in the new era, and uses her own personal experience to tell the story of three generations of Wulin people in the north of the Great Wall turning deserts into forests with youth and blood, and has won national awards for many times. She set up the most beautiful youth volunteer service team to carry out activities such as fire prevention propaganda, helping the poor, caring for left behind children, and learning from Lei Feng's volunteer service. With her youth and sincerity, she sowed green shade on the vast fields in the north of the Great Wall. In 2019, she won the May Day Labor Medal of Chengde City.
