Interview motivation
Yuanshi County has a village called Dianhuying Village behind the mountains in the most western mountainous area. Before 1974, the villagers were carrying goods on their backs. In order to solve the travel problem, from 1974 to 1982, the villagers manually dug a road from the mountain to the mountain, and staged a modern version of the story of Yugong moving the mountain. Since August 2023, Yuanshi County has widened and built this road again, and it will be open to traffic at the end of March 2024. At present, the project is in the process of completing the installation of guardrails, street lights and signs.

On April 17, the reporter came to the 72 turn Panshan Road in Tiebaomen, a mountain area in the west of Yuanshi County. Panshan Road, which was just ready for traffic, attracted many citizens and cycling enthusiasts to visit and experience. Everyone who reached the top of the road applauded. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking into the distance, the scenery along the way is picturesque, and the green terraces look particularly beautiful against the backdrop of the Taihang Mountains. "I used to only hear about the beautiful scenery of Panshan Road, but today I will ride an electric bike to experience it in good weather. I came from Tongye Town at 7 o'clock in the morning, and finally arrived after about an hour's walk. Only when I arrived in person can I realize the spectacular scenery. This road is so beautiful," Mr. Feng told reporters.
The highest point of Tiebaomen 72guapan Mountain Road here is 666 meters above sea level, with a total length of 6 kilometers. It is the only way to enter the tenant camp village, the westernmost village in Yuanshi County. Since 1974, the tenant camp villagers have spontaneously organized to build roads from the top of the mountain to the bottom. At the same time, under the call of the tenants' camp villagers, the original Kuangcun Township distributed the road section to six villages throughout the township for construction. In 1982, a "manually cut" mountain road from the mountain to the mountain was built. This road is about 6 kilometers long.
"At that time, there were six villages in the township, and each village had seven or eight production teams. In 1975, I returned to the village after graduating from high school to participate in road construction. At that time, villagers were all carried by people, shoulders, cattle, horses and donkeys. Now the road has been widened, and the solar street lights are on, opening the main artery to Pingding County in the west of the mountain." Hu Aichao, a villager in Hujiazhuang, told reporters.
The person in charge of guardrail construction told reporters that at present, the mountain protection net has been installed, and the installation of guardrail is being stepped up. It is expected to be completed before April 30.
After the mountain winding road is widened, it plays an important role in integrating local tourism resources, promoting holiday short distance leisure tourism and economic development.
