"Ningwei" agricultural products have started to layout the foreign trade market in succession, demonstrating the courage of enterprises to fight the torrent and the observation of adapting to the general trend. After breaking the ice, how to continue to seize the market, compete for profits and seek long-term development? How to build an "export-oriented" agricultural enterprise and wade out of the high-quality development road of Nanjing's local specialty export? The reporter conducted an interview.
From going out of the village to going out to the sea, Nanjing local specialties start the ice breaking journey
On April 24, when we walked into the greenhouse of Tai Village Base of Nanjing Puren Organic Agriculture Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Nanjing Puren) in Lishui District, we saw a green ocean, and the vegetables were lush and growing happily. Not far away, three members of Jinling Customs under Nanjing Customs are conducting a comprehensive "physical examination" of the base from the aspects of toxic and harmful substances detection, agricultural input management, epidemic and pest control monitoring, etc.
Nanjing Puren focuses on the planting of organic fruits and vegetables. Last February, the company's Tai Village Base became the first vegetable planting base for Hong Kong supply in Nanjing. This year, Nanjing Puren accelerated the pace of opening up the organic vegetable market in Hong Kong, China. Dai Weifang, the head of Tai Village Base, said that in the first quarter of this year, the company exported nearly 3 tons of organic vegetables to Hong Kong, including more than 10 kinds of fresh self-produced vegetables, such as chicken hair vegetable, Shanghai green, chrysanthemum, spinach, oilwheat vegetable, and Hangzhou cabbage.
Strawberry, as the golden signboard of Lishui, also officially went abroad this year. Nanjing Golden Manor Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Golden Manor), located in this area, has built its own brand "Berry Rabbit" and won the right to use the national geographical indication of "Lishui Strawberry" in March 2023. In September of that year, the company passed the customs audit and took the lead in possessing the qualification for exporting fresh strawberry fruits.
"At the beginning of January this year, 390 kilograms of fresh strawberries arrived in Singapore, becoming the first batch of fresh strawberries to go global in the city. Later, the company also developed markets in the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, and so on. In the first quarter, the company exported 15 batches of strawberries, a total of more than 20 tons." Zheng Duo, general manager of the Overseas Business Department of Golden Villa, said.
From quality assurance to freshness preservation, we will spare no effort to protect the "safety on the tip of the tongue"
It is not easy for agricultural products to "go to sea". Chen Han, head of the First Inspection Section of the Jiangning Office of Jinling Customs, explained that "different importing countries have different quality and safety standards. Hundreds of countries and thousands of agricultural products are intertwined and mixed together, with tens of thousands of standards. Once there is a gap, the products are refused to pass the customs by the importing country, which will bring a serious blow to the entire industry. No one can be careless! ”
Nanjing's agricultural enterprises, which have gone abroad, cultivated the market for many years and have inherent advantages, do not lack confidence. Last January, Nanjing Puren submitted the application form for the record of the vegetable planting base for Hong Kong. The planting area of Tai Village Base exceeded 438 mu, and nearly 40 kinds of vegetables and fruits were dazzling, which could achieve an annual output of thousands of tons of high-quality vegetables. According to the planting area of the base, the special pesticide depository and its status, the surrounding environment of the vegetable base and other indicators, the Tai Village Base passed the examination and approval successfully one month later. The company chooses to enter Hong Kong through customs clearance from Shenzhen, and the vegetables are transported by cold chain special vehicles all the way. They are often delivered to Shenzhen at night, and the green and dripping vegetables will appear on the shelves of Hong Kong supermarkets the next morning.
Golden Manor has been building bases and processing plants in accordance with export standards for nearly 4 years, and strictly managing the use of agricultural inputs in the planting stage according to the export destination's requirements for pesticide residues. In terms of post harvest treatment, Golden Manor has extended the storage time of strawberries to 15 days by introducing rapid pre cooling and other technologies, which also enables the company to win the double qualification of export orchard and export processing plant. Because Lishui strawberries are big and full, and water is rich and sweet, when the company's third batch of strawberries landed in Singapore, the local supermarket hung a billboard of "A Delicious Strawberry" to promote it as a star product.
In recent years, Jinling Customs has also taken a series of assistance measures to help Nanjing's high-quality agricultural products go overseas. At the same time, it will open up a green channel for the export of agricultural and food products with local characteristics, implement "7 × 24" scheduled customs clearance, and quickly check, release, and issue certificates for "low and fast goods". " Mao Yiming, Deputy Director of the Jiangning Office of Jinling Customs, introduced.
From the origin to the highland, the whole chain appreciation forging industrial clusters
Why do high-quality agricultural products sail to the sea? Industry insiders point to the same answer - seeking a broader demand market and more sufficient product profit space, but this process cannot be smooth.
Nanjing Puren adopts the "ship" shipping mode, that is, as a supplier, it supplies goods for the third-party trade platform, thus entering the Hong Kong market in a curve. The advantages of this model are flexible, efficient and low risk, but the bargaining power of products needs to be improved. The local retail price of strawberries of Golden Manor Company in Singapore is 80-100 yuan (300g net weight), 2-3 times the domestic price. But once strawberries are off the market, the company will be in a situation of "no goods for sale". "How to introduce other characteristic agricultural products and make full use of the existing trade channels is our starting point this year," said the relevant person in charge of the company.
Nanjing Zhongliang Organic Fruit and Vegetable Food Co., Ltd., a pioneer, is also striving to go from "taste first" to "often first". Zang Quan, the chairman of the company, said that blueberry, which used to be a little "niche", is becoming more "popular", and the price fight in overseas markets is also fierce.
What should I do? Promote regional agriculture to move towards the high-end of the global industrial chain value chain! This will not only help to improve the "gold content" of agricultural export enterprises, but also encourage farmers to "pocket money".
The reporter learned that in 2022, under the government's platform, leading foreign trade enterprises in Nanjing and local agricultural industrial parks jointly signed a framework agreement to jointly promote export cooperation, proposing to deeply tap the export potential of our city, focusing on industries such as Gucheng Lake crabs and Lishui's "five berries (plum)", and guiding and supporting the growth and potential agricultural leading enterprises to expand the international market, Promote the brand and quality internationalization of high-quality real estate agricultural products.
Several insiders called on Nanjing to focus on cultivating leading agricultural export enterprises, which can "pick the beam and enhance the cohesion", and improve the added value of agricultural exports through extending, supplementing and strengthening the chain, so as to form an industrial cluster effect. Realize the appreciation of the whole chain, pay attention to the quality of agricultural products with high standards, and the government departments take the initiative to serve in the front, so as to forge the quality advantage, benefit advantage, and competitive advantage. Only when Nanjing's local products go to the sea can they be "vigorous and travel thousands of miles".
