Haiwai.com, May 9 According to the Asahi Shimbun on May 9, 93 people have applied for the death determination of their dead families in the Nengdeng area of Japan and asked the Japanese government to pay disaster pensions. As the follow-up review and identification work progresses, the number of victims of the Nengdeng earthquake may exceed the number of victims of the Kumamoto earthquake in Japan in 2016.

On January 1 this year, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.6 occurred in the Nengdeng Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. According to the data released by Shichuan County, as of May 8, the number of people killed in the earthquake in Nengdeng area was 245, 15 of whom died from secondary disasters. It is expected that the number of people identified will increase significantly thereafter.

As for the disaster pension, the Japanese government stipulated that if the victims were to support their families, they would be given 5 million yen (about RMB 232000) to their families. In other cases, family members will be given 2.5 million yen (about 116000 yuan). (Shan Ning, an overseas online king/Fan Rui, an intern)
