Refugee camp girls' school delivering hope

On June 18, in Kakuma refugee camp, Turkana County, Kenya, students of the Lifelong Hope Girls' Middle School took a break between classes.

The Lifelong Hope Women's Secondary School was established in 2014, and now has more than 300 students from countries including South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, etc. The school is built and managed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Kenyan government, and enrolls refugees and local students.

According to UNHCR officials, Life Hope School aims to reduce gender violence in refugee camps and promote the integration of young refugees into local society through education.
