Floods in West Sumatra, Indonesia, have killed 52 people

The Indonesian National Disaster Relief Agency (BNPB) released a report on the 14th local time, saying that 52 people were killed and 17 others were missing in the flood disaster in West Sumatra Province.

Ilham Wahab, an official of the disaster relief department of West Sumatra Province, said that the search for missing persons was still ongoing, and heavy machinery and equipment had been added to the scene to help carry out operations.

According to Agence France Presse, on the evening of the 11th, heavy rainfall lasting for several hours triggered floods, mudslides and cold lava flows from Malapi Volcano in Agam, Tanadano and other places in West Sumatra Province, resulting in many casualties among local people.
