Kuwait forms a new government

Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, May 13 (Reporter Yin Xuan) According to the Kuwait News Agency, the Emir of Kuwait, Mishal, announced the approval of the new cabinet led by Prime Minister Ahmed Abdullah on the evening of the 12th.

The new cabinet is composed of 13 ministers, 9 of whom are from the previous government, including the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Fahd Yusuf Sabah, and the Foreign Minister, Abdullah Ali Yahya.  

Kuwait's 18th National Assembly election was held on April 4. According to the Kuwaiti Constitution, the Cabinet resigned and reorganized after the announcement of the parliamentary election results. On April 6, Muhammad Sabah, the then Prime Minister of Kuwait, submitted his resignation to Mishal. On April 7, Mishal issued the Amir Order to accept the resignation. On April 15, Mishal announced the appointment of Ahmed Abdullah as the new Prime Minister and instructed him to form a cabinet.
