The Thai government actively promotes the construction of regional medical centers

People's Daily, Bangkok, May 12 (Reporter Sun Guangyong) Recently, the Thai government announced the launch of the "barrier free health tourism in Thailand" project, aiming to build Thailand into a comprehensive health tourism destination. The launching ceremony of the project was held in Siriraji Hospital affiliated to Mahidol University in Thailand. Relevant leaders introduced the content of Thailand's barrier free health care plan, and demonstrated barrier free facilities and medical supporting systems.

Supavadi, chairman of Thailand Tourism and Creative Economy Project Committee, said that the project was the first health tourism experience designed for disabled tourists and the elderly in Thailand, including a variety of innovative activities, aimed at enriching and improving the tourist experience.

Inspired by the unique Thai culture, the design meets the needs of tourists through a comprehensive experience of vision, taste, smell, hearing and touch. In addition, Mahidol University plans to hold the first barrier free music festival and other activities in Thailand in the second half of 2024, and develop a website showing all relevant service information of the barrier free health tourism plan.

The project is jointly developed by Mahidol University and the Department of Medicine of Seri Raj Hospital and a number of institutions, including a series of creative activities for tourists with special needs, such as barrier free health tourism packages. In addition, the Thai government will also introduce a series of measures to promote the economic growth of communities and enterprises. It is expected that these measures will improve the economic situation of the local communities in Bangkok, Phuket and the non popular tourist destination, Buddhist Unity, and promote all people to enjoy Thailand's diversified tourism products and services, while enhancing the ability of local communities to provide excellent tourism services.

At present, Thailand is committed to becoming a medical center. This strategy will help transform from traditional tourism, achieve strategic diversification of tourism products, and promote the development of tourism in a more diversified direction.
