China's main venue of International Museum Day will be held in Xi'an

Beijing, May 12 (Reporter Wang Jue) On May 10, the press conference of China's main venue for 2024 International Museum Day was held in Beijing. The main venue activity will be held in the Shaanxi History Museum Qin and Han Museum from May 17 to 19, focusing on the theme of "museums are committed to education and research", to showcase the latest achievements in the development of China's museums.

Luo Wenli, deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, said that a series of announcements will be made at the opening ceremony of the main venue, including the release of the latest data on the development of China's museums in 2023, the release of the fifth batch of national first-class museums, the joint awarding of medals for 20 national revolutionary cultural relics centers with the Ministry of Education, and the joint launch of the exhibition promotion themed "Reading China in museums" with the Central Cyberspace Office, It also announced the promotion results of "Top Ten Exhibition and Exhibition Boutiques in National Museums".

On the day of the International Museum Day, the Qin and Han Museum of Shaanxi History Museum will officially open, launch a series of blockbuster exhibitions of "Qin and Han Civilization", hold the theme exhibition of "Starting from Chang'an: the 10th anniversary of the Silk Road's successful application for World Heritage", carry out the museum night activity of "Millennium Qin and Han Museum, Ancient and Modern", hold the main forum of the museum day, youth forum Curator Forum and International Academic Seminar on Qin and Han Civilizations.

This year's event in China's main venue was hosted by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, and undertaken by the Shaanxi Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, the People's Government of Xi'an City, the China Museum Association, and the China Cultural Heritage Newspaper.
