"In order to further prepare for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup and 2027 Women's World Cup, the China Football Association has decided to hire Ante Milicic as the head coach of the Chinese national women's football team after discussion by the expert review panel," the China Football Association said in the announcement.

It is reported that Milicic, born in Australia on April 4, 1974, is a professional coach of the Asian Football Association. During his playing time, he played in the top leagues of Australia, the Netherlands and Croatia, and was selected into the Australian men's national team.
