Fujian Opera Music Creation Talent Training Class Held

The 2023 Fujian Opera Music Creation Talent Training Course sponsored by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and undertaken by the Provincial Academy of Arts was completed in Fuzhou on the 12th.

Most of the participants in this training class are opera music design, singing design, band orchestration talents who have some practical experience in the field of opera music creation in our province, as well as performers who play the main musical instruments and drums in the band. Some are also interested in the creation and research of opera music. The trainees came from more than 20 units, including provincial troupes, colleges and universities, research institutions, municipal and county grassroots troupes, and folk professional troupes, covering 11 kinds of operas, including Beijing Opera, Yueju Opera, Fujian Opera, Puxian Opera, Liyuan Opera, Gaojia Opera, Gezi Opera (Xiang Opera), Zhuma Opera, Chaozhou Opera, Minxi Han Opera, Pingjiang Opera, and other artistic categories, such as string puppet show, hand puppet show, etc.

The training class invited Xie Zhenqiang, Fei Yuping, Wang Yaxun, Zhou Qin, Jiang Zhiguo and other well-known composers, experts and scholars to give lectures. In addition to holding a work exchange meeting and an art salon to evaluate the students' works and discuss the direction of our province's opera music creation and talent training and other related issues, the training class also arranged two on-site teaching activities, to observe the high-quality plays of professional theaters and the business plays of professional folk troupes, so as to promote the young backbone to adhere to the music tradition of operas and improve the level of Fujian opera music creation, Cultivate the talents in short supply of Fujian opera, and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Fujian opera music.

The relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism said that our province has recently organized a workshop for famous opera performing artists, a training class for opera music creators and other activities.
