In the import and export data of goods trade in the first five months of this year released recently, mechanical and electrical products with high technology content and added value contributed to the main increase. Among them, mechanical and electrical products accounted for nearly 60% of exports, and China's export of ships and household appliances with advantages increased by 100.1% and 17.8% respectively.

Under the promotion of the "Belt and Road" initiative, more Chinese high-quality goods will go abroad, and high-quality products from all over the world will also be introduced into the Chinese market. At present, the categories of goods carried by China EU regular trains have expanded to more than 50000 in 53 categories, and the annual transport value has increased from US $8 billion in 2016 to US $56.7 billion in 2023. While the traditional trade pattern has maintained a rapid growth, China's foreign trade enterprises have applied the latest digital technology to create a flexible supply chain of "small orders and quick reaction" to better meet the diversified market demand.
According to a recent survey conducted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, 81.6% of foreign trade enterprises predicted that their exports would be better or flat in the first half of the year, and 65.1% of the interviewed enterprises' new orders would increase or be flat compared with the first quarter.
Li Wei, associate researcher of the Foreign Economic Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomics, said that new products, new technologies and new business types have driven the situation of foreign trade orders to improve. With the improvement of foreign demand and the continuous efforts of China's foreign trade stabilization policy, the confidence of foreign trade enterprises will further improve.
