On the morning of July 1, 2022, the awarding ceremony of the commemorative medal of "Glory in the 50 Years of the Party" of Beijing Jiaotong University in 2022 was held in Room 317, Office Building 12. More than 30 people, including the veteran party member of "Glory in the Party for 50 years", Huang Taiyan, secretary of the Party Committee, Sun Shouguang, deputy secretary and vice president of the Party Committee, Wen Haitao, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, Shi Zhenjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, head of the Organization Department and head of the United Front Work Department, comrades in charge of relevant functional departments of the school, and some family members of veteran party members, attended the ceremony.

Huang Taiyan, on behalf of the Party Committee of the University, expressed warm congratulations and high respect to the party members and comrades who received the commemorative medals, and heartfelt thanks to all retired comrades who have made contributions to the development of the cause of the University. He pointed out that first, we should understand the old party members' original intention of firm faith and loyalty to the party; Second, we should inherit the dedication spirit of the old party members who are dedicated to their work and morality and willing to serve as human ladders; Third, we should continue the pioneering and innovative journey of the old Party members to strive for the best.

Huang Taiyan stressed that the majority of old Party members have devoted their youth to the Party and education, and have taken practical actions to stay with the Party after leaving their posts and retirement, which is a model of our loyalty to the Party, unity of knowledge and practice, dedication and dedication. In May this year, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the Opinions on Strengthening the Party Building of Retired Cadres in the New Era, which pointed out the direction for us to further improve the Party building of retired cadres and better unite and unite retired cadres. The school party committee will continue to do a good job in all aspects of the work of veteran party members and retired comrades. The retired work department and all relevant units should closely cooperate, always maintain respect, pay attention to love, do more practical things, use emotion with heart, provide precise services, and strive to create better conditions for old comrades to enjoy their old age. It is hoped that while taking good care of their bodies and lives, old comrades can give full play to their political, experience and prestige advantages, as always, they will care about and support the reform and development of schools and the construction of the Party, tell a good revolutionary tradition with their own experience, tell a good story of Jiaotong University, inherit the red gene, and make new contributions.

Sun Shouguang presided over the ceremony, and Wen Haitao read out the list of winners of the commemorative medal of "50 years of glory in the Party". Huang Taiyan and Wen Haitao respectively awarded commemorative medals and sent consolation money and flowers to the old comrades who had been honored in the Party for 50 years.

Representatives of the medal winners Han Lanru and Zhang Qikun delivered speeches at the award ceremony. The two veteran Party members reviewed their mental journey to devote themselves to school education, scientific research and management respectively based on their own experience.

Han Lanru said that as a retired old party member and comrade, he will always care about the construction and development of the school, and strive to make new contributions to the implementation of the fundamental task of building morality and cultivating people, and to cultivate socialist builders and successors. He will firmly adhere to the "Four Consciousness", "Four Self Confidence", and "Two Safeguards" in the Party. Zhang Qikun said that as a Jiaotong University official, he should love Jiaotong University at any position and at any time, and should do his best for the construction and development of the school. Even retirees should actively participate in the construction of the school, never be a bystander, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the "double first-class" construction of Jiaotong University.

All the party members present raised their right hands and faced the party flag to review the oath of joining the party. The winner of the commemorative medal took the oath on behalf of Comrade Zhou Xingyou.
