Introduction to Nanping

Nanping is located in the north of Fujian Province, in the southeast of the northern section of Wuyishan vein, at the junction of Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi. It is the "north gate" of Fujian. As the birthplace of Minjiang River, Jianxi River, Futun River and Shaxi River converged in Nanping City and became known as Minjiang River. Covering an area of 26300 square kilometers, it is the largest administrative region in Fujian Province, governing four cities of Shaowu, Wuyishan, Jianou and Jianyang, and five counties of Shunchang, Pucheng, Guangze, Songxi, Zhenghe and Yanping District, with a total population of 3050000. The territory is characterized by undulating mountains, crisscross river valleys and developed water systems, which is a typical tectonic erosion landform of middle and low mountains and hills. It is a forest city with mountains and rivers, and an ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Minjiang River. Guo Moruo, a modern poet, chanted that Nanping is "surrounded by green mountains on eight sides and surrounded by green water". The famous historical and cultural city dates back to
