Travel Notes of Avila Ancient City Lost in Medieval Photography

With the MWC 2014 exhibition, which just ended last week, I was very lucky to visit Avila, known as the "Stone City", when I first stepped into the Iberian Peninsula. Accompanied by the association you carry with you VIBE Z , recorded the leisurely white clouds and the silent dusk that day, the clear blue sky and the ancient city wall made people feel dizzy, as if they were lost in the Middle Ages, and could not be separated from them.

As the highest city in Spain, the ancient city wall is the symbol of Avila. A large number of historical sites such as Gothic churches, monasteries and Alcassa castles are all over the city. This ancient city, founded in the 12th century, has gone through the rule of the Roman and Arab dynasties. Up to now, the old city and outside the city have been branded with more distinctive features, and Roman and Arab architectural styles can be seen everywhere. Avila is composed of 9 gates, 88 circular pillboxes and 2500 battlements. The rugged streets and magnificent city walls are all based on stones, so it is also called the Stone City. Today, it is also one of the world cultural heritage cities recognized by UNESCO.

In the afternoon when I just arrived at Avila, I stayed at the highest observation platform. In addition to the stone pillar cross pointing to the sky, what impressed me was the changeable wind and the uncertain low clouds. But when we crossed the city wall and entered the ancient city, the sky suddenly cleared up. The pure blue, high white, ancient yellow, and high and low buildings formed a very unreal picture. The beautiful front made people panic. They did not know how to describe clean colors, nor how to share the shock.

The sky, the sunset, the gust, the city wall, the church are the scenes I saw; Tranquility, literature and art, history, grandeur, and blankness are the impressions I feel. I wanted to find the right words in my mind for a while, but it quickly became empty. This is the experience of the ancient city of Avila. In the afternoon, I sat on the stone pile of the city wall with two people from the same team. After the praise, I calmed down, reflecting the falling sunset. I spent five minutes to let myself go. I could imagine many things but could not remember anything.
