Xinhua News Agency, Ankara, May 19 (Reporter Xiong Sihao) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on the evening of the 19th that Turkey was willing to "provide all necessary support" for Iran's search and rescue of the wrecked helicopter carrying President Lech.

Erdogan said on social media that night that Turkey was deeply saddened by the helicopter accident in Iran. While maintaining full contact and coordination with Iran, Turkey is paying close attention to the incident.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that night that Turkey has started to provide support for Iran's search and rescue helicopter operation and has mobilized all necessary support forces.

At the request of Iran, the Turkish military dispatched a UAV and a search and rescue helicopter with night vision capability that night. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency sent 32 mountain search and rescue team members and 6 rescue vehicles to East Azerbaijan Province in northwest Iran to help the search and rescue operations of Iran. East Azerbaijan Province of Iran is adjacent to Van Province in the east of Turkey.

According to Iranian media reports on the 19th, a helicopter carrying Iranian President Lech and senior officials crashed on the same day and made an emergency landing in East Azerbaijan Province.
