Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, southwest of central Gansu Province, facing Dingxi in the east by the Tao River, adjacent to Qinghai Province by the towering and majestic Jishi Mountain in the west, bordering Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture by the magnificent Taizi Mountain in the south, and bordering the provincial capital Lanzhou by Huangshui in the north.
