A couple was trapped in the water that morning. Wang Fuli, who was on tour, was just near the accident site when he heard a woman crying for help. He immediately followed her voice and quickly searched for her. He found a woman trapped in water under the bridge. Wang Fuli made a quick decision, jumped into the water without any safety measures, swam to the drowning person, lifted her out of the water from behind, and helped her grasp the height limit bar under the bridge hole. After the woman got out of danger, she told her husband that she was still underwater. At that time, the rainstorm was still going on. A lot of manhole covers were washed away by the rainstorm, forming whirlpools. The current was very fast, the rain was muddy, and there were a lot of garbage, which could be stepped in carelessly. It was very difficult to rescue. Wang Fuli kept plunging into the water, but finally failed to find the woman's husband. At that time, Wang Fuli was exhausted, and felt very sorry that he could not continue to rescue the woman's husband.

When asked whether he hesitated to save people by diving, Wang Fuli said: "It was too late to think about anything at that time, and anyone who had the ability would save them, whether they were from other places or local." Wang Fuli was forced by life when he was young. He learned acrobatics from others to support himself and became an apprentice for many years. After completing his studies in 2013, Wang Fuli founded the folk acrobatic art team of Dongwangying, Dayi Town, Juye County by himself, and now has a family and a career.
