On the morning of 22nd, Jiexi County held the 2023 Guangdong Jiexi "Red Tour" 1000 people hiking activity in Huoju Village, Nanshan Town, with more than 1000 hiking enthusiasts from Shanwei, Shantou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Huizhou and other places as well as our city participating (see the picture below. At the event site, with the sound of an order, all the participating teams started from the starting point of the Torch Village. They walked vigorously along Luojing Water Village, the Great Beishan Revolutionary History Memorial Hall, Shangliao Village and other punch points, enjoying the scenery along the Torch Village and understanding the red culture, Feel the ecological and livable beauty of Jiexi.

The hiking is 25 kilometers long, and there are supply points on the way to provide water, medical care and other guarantees for the hikers. The participants include not only professional outdoor athletes, but also hiking enthusiasts and tourists. Ms. Wen from Jiexi took her 12-year-old son to participate in the hiking activities. She said, "When I came to the Torch Village, I felt that the new rural construction was very good. Along the way, I can not only enjoy flowers and scenery, but also broaden children's vision, deepen their understanding of the revolutionary history of the Torch Village, explore red footprints, and better inherit the glorious revolutionary tradition. It is meaningful to hold such activities." Rongcheng District Long distance Running Association organized more than 50 people to participate in the event. The head of the association said that everyone was enthusiastic to sign up. It was very happy for so many people to participate together. Jiexi has a beautiful environment, beautiful scenery, warm people, and a distinctive red culture. Now that our quality of life has improved, our health awareness should also be improved. More outdoor sports will make people healthier and younger. The relevant person in charge of Jiexi County Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau said that he hoped to enhance everyone's understanding of the revolutionary history and characters of the Torch Village through hiking activities, feel the long revolutionary history of Jiexi and the energetic spirit of the "Torch Man", and further expand and strengthen the red tourism industry of Jiexi with this spirit of struggle.

It is reported that Jiexi County is a national ecological protection and construction demonstration area and one of the first batch of global tourism demonstration areas in Guangdong Province, enjoying the reputation of "the back garden of eastern Guangdong", "the hometown of longevity in China", etc. At the same time, it is also a famous old revolutionary base area, with deep red heritage and rich red resources. In recent years, Jiexi County has paid attention to the protection and development of "red" resources, dug deep into the red tourism industry, and deeply integrated red education, party building training and tourism. It has successfully built such patriotic education bases as Xingdao Academy, the former site of the Eastern Expedition Army headquarters in the Mianhu Campaign, the "Red Hot Land" Nanshan Torch Village, and the Great Beishan Revolutionary History Memorial Hall. These old places of the Red Revolution have become one by one tourist card punching points, and become shining business cards of Jiexi County's whole region tourism.
